Works started one year ago during summer 2011
Unfortunately there are 4 months of delay like Harrys just told it above but the delivery is still for June 2014
It's the moment to make a flashback and a summary of this project for Euro 2016

Old stadium

anyone know or can hazard a guess as to what the roof membrane material is?

EDIT: found it.

Quote:
The roof is made of a Teflon coated fibreglass fabric laying on smooth arches giving a nice wavy image of the stadium, matching thus the waves of the nearby Mediterranean see and the mountain lines of the background landscape of Provence

PTFE, well, that's what it sounds like. Just a standard material that is used on many stadiums now.

WOW

That is huge!

Any ideas on when that stand will be finished? And when the roof will go on?

The opening of the stand is scheduled for November. The frame should begin to be installed this summer, but we don't known exactly when.

I prefer the design without roof.

Enchanting ground. How far a cry from the claustrophobic and pretentious monstrosities, equipped with rectangable roofs. Absolutely delightful. Outshining any current EURO 2012 stadium and other French 2016 efforts.

The thing I'm particularly impressed with on this redevelopment is the sheer size of the roof, massive in terms of scale of area but from the mockups it looks like it will have a really light and airy feel to it which compliments the single tier end stands extremely well in my opinion. Definitely my favourite stadium redevelopment program in France currently
