American hotel giant unveils big plans for state
HYDERABAD: Bullish about the hospitality potential of Andhra Pradesh, and more particularly Hyderabad, US-based hospitality giant Hyatt Hotels has drawn up plans to check in at least five Hyatt hotels in the state over the coming three years or so.

While the hospitality major has just made its AP debut with its first city luxury Park Hyatt property in the country at Hyderabad, plans are being drawn up to open three more Hyatt hotels under various categories in Hyderabad with one in Vizag as well.

"We have an upcoming Hyatt Place on Road No.1, opposite GVK One, with two Hyatt Regency properties slotted for Banjara Hills and Gachibowli. Another Hyatt Regency hotel will be coming up in Vizag," Sven Hoffmeyer, general manager of the newly-opened Park Hyatt Hyderabad, told newspersons on Friday. However, he refused to divulge details about the size of or investments to be made in the upcoming projects.

"Hyderabad, the financial, economic and political capital of Andhra Pradesh, is one of the richest cities in India. It is one of India's prominent biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical hubs and has large tracts of land devoted to software development and IT research. Moreover, it is also emerging as a key tourism destination," he said.

According to politician and Gayatri Group founder Subbirami Reddy, who is the promoter of Park Hyatt Hyderabad, the Vizag Hyatt property would be set up close to the airport. "We have five acres of land near the airport where we will be setting up a Hyatt Regency," Reddy said.

The Park Hyatt Hyderabad, which has come up in Banjara Hills at a cost of approximately Rs 700 crore, developed by Gayatri Group and managed by Hyatt Hotels, is the first hotel in the city offering serviced apartments and has 185 rooms, 24 suites and 42 serviced apartments.

‘Hospitality industry booming'

Speakers at a function marking the South India Hospitality Awards 2012 here on Sunday evening said the sector was booming across all parameters, including the financials involved and its employment potential.

Establishments in the sector based in the State capital walked away with a majority of the awards, including 5-star hotels Taj Krishna and Marriott Hotel & Convention Centre, apart from Manasarovar - The Fern bagging the Best Ecotel Hotel award and KVK Event Management, represented by its MD, Murali Koneru, getting recognised in hosting events. In all Hyderabad-based facilities got awards in 22 different categories.

The awards are organised by Epicurus Hospitality Consultants, represented by its MD Nagaraju, who said that from the next year on, they would give away All India Hospitality Awards. A portal, www.telugubhasha.in was also launched on the occasion.

So the 7 Star hotel dreams have gone kaput with Emaar MGF writing itself off and along with it all the projects it held in the city with all sorts of scams and cases, Ironic.

Well What about the proposed Four Seasons High Rise tower that was to come ? B'lore project has gone ahead, there seem to be no light about the hyd one, I guess it was Emaar who were supposed to take up that project. Real sad times for the city :/

Luxury hospitality chain Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel is set to commence operations in the rapidly expanding Pearl City of Hyderabad focussing on busy business travelers and leisure pleasure seeker.

Great find IU.. Really difficult to find out because they haven't used a gmaps background. I guess it is on the ORR on the Manikonda side.

The reason is that there is a lake in the background that looks like Durgam Cheruvu.. Other members plz help in locating this beauty.

IU: Any idea when this design was commissioned? Because if it's before 2008 then I doubt if this is going to be built soon.
I hope not. Lots of 30+ floor towers designed before 2008 are yet to begin

Prodigist -These renders were a part of Gensler's recent "capability" presentation to the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce. The PDF was uploaded on their website on May 30, so rest assured this is a current project that is being pursued. If it was old or just a design proposal, they wouldn't have paraded it in the presentation and allocated 3 slides. That's how I see it.

In the first render, there's a boomerang shaped building in the back. Does that ring a bell?

The building in the background looks like inorbit mall. And also I saw a huge land enclosed in sheets marked "ITC Hotels" exactly in the same location. Might be this hotel belongs to ITC group... BTW I work in Ascendas IT park just opposite to this land, thats how I got to see this.

But Inorbit is not directly on the road, iLabs buildings are also a little boomerang shaped but their orientation is different..

But your location might be correct but does the ITC plot have the same proportions as the plot in the render..

I previously thought that the entire land between this road and old bombay highway(Hyderabad Knowledge City) was under litigation.

Also it will help if you can point out the plot that you are referring to on google maps.
