I didn't want to bump the fire station thread so thought I'd put it here, this is what Watkin Jones (the same developer as the fire station tower) have proposed for their student tower in Portsmouth:

I look at that, then look at the brum proposal and feel green with envy lol. Okay it wouldn't sit right on the brum site but it shows that this developer is capable of doing something interesting and less bog-standard. To rub salt into the wound, that portsmouth design is shown in the design and access statement for the brum tower. No wonder the planning committee keep hinting at toblerones and triangles.

Just a sidenote on that new Co-op Building in Manchester... truly is a superb building. Wouldn't surprise me if it won a few architecture awards. Ive seen it in the flesh on numerous occasions now and it always looked wonderful, good job by them.

Have to agree with you there, it looks stunning. Also very pleased with how their new student tower is turning out aswell. The kind of quality we must strive for in brum.

I don't know if it's just a urban myth but usually (but obviously not always) when a city has two teams or there are two close to each other one will play in red and be founded by Catholics and one blue founded by Protestants.
