Btw, as to diagrams, somebody plz tell me at which floor we are now at?
Man up bud. It's a stupid web forum. It's not real life. Who cares what anyone says about you. Have them meet you at a coffee bar and repeat what they said face to face.

I love New York it's the best city in the world and deserves to call itself "The capital of the world" but I want to see at least ONE Megatall skycraper. I think that would have been a discussion around the world that N.Y is back for real.
NYC or the US doesn't have to prove anything unlike other developing cities and nations who only care about artificial status. Let the Arabs show off with their 2000 ft scrapers using the West's oil money and the commies in China can do the same with American money. That's right. America is developing China. We build based on economic common sense not to prove we have bigger dicks.

Like someone else said, there are many supertalls planned for NYC. There are trillions of dollars on the sidelines in America waiting for our buffoon president to take a hike. Don't worry yourself too much about NY falling behind

The 102nd floor is about 27 feet high, and the 103rd is about 20 feet. Hard to believe they'll go 47 feet on the next jump.

27 feet is pretty consistent with their typical height increases.

For a brutalist it is absolutely natural to like an exposed antenna more than a fancy spire. Brutalism is not trolling, it's a normal architectural style. If it were just a one man trolling attempt they wouldn't bother giving it a name and a place in the history of architecture. Just because it's less popular than for example Art Deco doesn't mean it is trolling. Everybody who has read my posts in this forum must know that I'm a brutalist. My feelings really got hurt by what he said.

If that's the case, then why are you obsessed with an outdated form of measurement (roof height) anyway? Wouldn't it be better to be an advocate of pinnacle or height to tip?

I think this is a very important point.

Dubai might have the tallest pointy thing in the world right now. Who cares? The city is mind-numbingly sterile.

NYC offers far more than 'just' tall buildings, but even if you are just talking about tall buildings, NYC is a top world destination boasting the world's most famous and interesting tall cityscape.

So it will be 1318 ft, eh? Ah, Nevermind, I see you say it won't.

I'm confused, no one ever said the exact number of floors, it's always either 104, 85, 105, 108, or 110. How many more floors are there until topping off?

I think what's really stupid here is the fact that they've downgraded the quality of the building several times... starting with the podium (which is now square, the small plaza (which now looks like a bunker), and the spire (which is now a "regular" antenna). That is what is really stupid, and what has put 1 WTC under the Willis Tower. Really Stupid Decision.

Exactly. In the world of towers like burj khalifa and kingdom tower roof height measurement is absolutely outdated because there is no point and no meaning of roof height of buildings like burj and kingdom. You are clearly obsessed about this and other ideas often leaving rational thinking behind, what pisses people off.

But all in all. I missed your presence here a bit. This crazy element you introduce to this sometimes boring threads

1. Many people think the new podium actually looks better (more resemblance to the original WTC towers), including me.
2. The plaza plan is not final, it can be changed.
3. There has been no renders about the spire change whatsoever. As Otie mentioned, the material enclosing the antenna will still be there. Generally speaking, noone knows how it will look like.

So let's just take a step back and don't jump to premature conclusions.

Welcome back Kanto, I'm sorry that you were chased from here for a while by stupid comments. There are always going to be some flies in the ointment on these forums, it's best to just ignore them (as I do).

And Skyscrapers144, I think that's the best thing I've ever seen created from MS Paint

There are three actual floors left, the 103rd, 104th, and 105th.
