This is a big country with lots of possibility..............trouble is any Government is only there for a whisp in time and makes decisions for the future as they see fit. They make policy that they see as for the far distant future yet in reality it is for the life of their Government. So we have start stop development in a wide variety of fields over millenia.........sorry,OK over years and years...........just how life works so stop complaining. Everybody is not right all the time......We all look from a different perspective and get all upset when others think the opposite way.....what's the damn wrong with you people it's how humankind works and whether it's you or me that's how it has always worked...so move on...get over it!

Methinks that people exaggerate welfare spending and dole-bludging a tad bit too much.

You do realise that in order to collect dole money, you have to follow a set of very strict requirements? Even here in leftist Massachusetts.

Thank you for giving me the incentive to use it more often.

Someone said something positive, that's news.

Quote:
Work with PM, bank boss urges business
May 8, 2012

Westpac chief executive Gail Kelly has urged other business leaders to work constructively with Prime Minister Julia Gillard and put aside the combative approach that some have taken to Ms Gillard's minority government.

In a rare public endorsement from one of the nation's most powerful bosses, Ms Kelly said Ms Gillard was ''a consultative person'' for whom she had ''a very healthy respect''.

''It's important that big business rolls up its sleeves and engages constructively, and I think the Prime Minister is also adopting this approach,'' Mrs Kelly told Fairfax.

From my experience most big companies actually engage quite well with the Government on most issues.

There are just reasonable sized minority that feel the need to blame any business woes on anyone but themselves.

Most business owners don't like Labor, I think thats quite clear. Easier to hoarde their money until Liberal are back in power.

Lets just say I wouldn't be surprised if investment sentiment changed pretty quickly if Liberal get back in power.

To read tags below makes you realise the brainpower of some on here haaaa but anyway rampant one eyed political hacks don't stop to think if it was always all their way the place would crash in a heap so it swings back and forth, left and right over the years because some people have lots of money and businesses and others have a job they want to keep with good pay and conditions. If it was all one way it just wouldn't work...simple ! I am interested to see developments in Europe as the continent swings left and right depending on which country they are in all trying to come to the same position......happiness : )

This is ridiculous. Labor needs to stop pulling so many surprise policy changes on businesses it's creating unnecessary uncertainty in future business conditions.

The reasoning is that he could never get the tax cuts through without the support of the Liberals and the Greens. You can blame these guys for its removal.

Funny how the Liberals would rather higher taxes than agree with the Labor Government.

As usual, Labor just redistribute the nation's wealth and provide no policies for creating it in this stupid budget.

I'd like to say i'm surprised about the cash payouts to "families" - but i'm not surprised.

Both sides of politics always stiff singles and childless couples - i'm amazed that the demographics support such poll-driven bribery still.

Dumfounded as to why singles (or childless couples) remain ineligible for a break from this Govt? There is not a cent for someone like myself having to pay all the upcoming cost increases as a result of the stupid carbon-tax.

Pissed off.
