Ah! Great! They could also replace that tin roof by a copper one by the way...

Now it looks as if it deserves the title "BEAUTIFUL German city"!

Isn't that the Kaiserhaus or something in that direction? I also remember the Victoria-building, was also very beautiful.......

But this seems like a challenge to reconstruct, with all the details. Hope they will do this some day

How come we were able to produce such beauty a 100 years ago while now we just build crap (as a matter of fact the Greeks and Romans already drew up far more aesthetically pleasing buildings).

The Kaiserpalast, was for sure, one of Dresden's greatest war losses. A shame!

I wish it could be rebuilt, it would be awesome!

There aren't. And of course they aren't high on any priority list as long as the Neumarkt area ain't finished. Next on the priority list would be Neustädter Markt (on the other side of the Elbe river), anyway. There already is an initiative (and the one that cared about Neumarkt will support it).

But I'd love to see some extraordinary historicist gems getting reconstructed in the future too (Zentraltheater, Victoriahaus, Ilgenhaus/Kaiserpalast, Venedighaus, the old main post buildings, some buildings at Prager Strasse such as the Feuerversicherung, Ausstellungspalast - nowadays site of the VW Transparent Factory, the old synagogue, Circus Sarrasani, some churches that vanished, Hotel Bellevue and Semper Opera power station - yeah that's a power station in the back...)

Btw, check this out:

Great collection of historical Dresden views
