В Баку привезут два парома из Хорватии

Осенью 2012 года в Азербайджан прибудут два парома, построенных в Хорватии.

Как передает AZE.az со ссылкой на Осенью этого года в Баку привезут два парома, построенных по заказу Азербайджана отдел информации и прессы КАСПАРа, в хоравтской верфи осуществляется строительство двух паромов по заказу Азербайджанского каспийского морского пароходства.

Также отметим, что в строительство паромов внесены определенные изменения, направленные на улучшение их характеристик. Так, теперь паромы смогут перевозить 54 вагона, а не 52, как раньше.

Уже осенью паромы передадут Азербайджану. В церемонии передачи паромов нашей стране запланировано участие Президента Азербайджана Ильхама Алиева.

В данный момент республика обладает 11 паромами. Также сообщается, что укрепление деловых взаимоотношений в судостроительной сфере стали возможны благодаря развитию и расширению азербайджано-хорватских связей.

London Taxis' Next Stop: Azerbaijan

he Azerbaijani pop duo Ell & Nikki’s victory in last year’s Eurovision Song Contest has produced an unlikely beneficiary: a British taxi manufacturer. Tradition dictates that as reigning champ of the pan-European songfest, Azerbaijan gets to host the next competition, to be held on May 26. That has prompted the oil-rich nation to order 1,000 black London-style taxis. The iconic cabs are destined for the capital city of Baku, which has a fleet of 20,000 Soviet-era models, mostly Russian Lada sedans.

British automaker Manganese Bronze Holdings (MNGS:LN), which will paint its normally black taxis violet at the behest of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, is seeing a surge in interest from energy-exporting economies. In 2011 the company sold 1,502 vehicles in the U.K. and 705 overseas. This year, it predicts, it will for the first time sell more cabs abroad than in Britain.

“All the surveys indicate that London has far and away the best taxi service in the world in the view of business and tourist travelers,” says Chief Executive Officer John Russell. “That has a big emotional attraction for people who are trying to develop their cities.”

Manganese, which reckons it has built 85 percent of the cabs operating on London streets, serves 15 overseas markets including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kuwait. The taxi maker has also received interest from 30 or 40 more countries, says Russell, who has worked at PSA Peugeot Citroën (UG:FP) and Harley-Davidson (HOG). In Britain the cabs cost about $48,000 to $55,000 each. Because the order is so big and their cabs have slightly lower specifications, the Azerbaijanis are buying them for about $27,000 apiece.

Azerbaijan plans to have 3,000 London-style cabs on the streets by next year. Baku, a city of 2.5 million on the western shore of the Caspian Sea, is prospering. Since Azerbaijan’s independence following the Soviet Union’s collapse in 1991, energy companies including BP (BP), Statoil (STO), and Total (TOT) have spent as much as $35 billion in the country.

Drivers with Baku Taxi, the state-backed company that operates the London-style cabs, say passengers like the roomy interior and the meters, which mean an end to haggling over fares. “I turn on the counter, and the passenger sees it on the screen,” says cabbie Adil Eyyubov. “It’s comfortable for clients, they do not have to bargain.”

The black taxis, known as Hackney cabs because of their origin as carriages drawn by French Haquenée horses, feature 25-foot turning circles, as required by London’s Public Carriage Office in the early 20th century, to enable exits from taxi-waiting queues in the middle of the street or tight spaces such as the Savoy hotel forecourt.

Coventry (England)-based Manganese Bronze in 2006 entered into a joint venture with China’s Geely Automobile Holdings to help cut costs and ensure its long-term survival. Under terms of the accord, Manganese buys components and body parts from Geely’s supply chain in Asia before assembling them in the U.K. Geely took a 20 percent stake in the British company and holds rights to sell the black cabs in China and some parts of Asia.

In 2014, Manganese will introduce a new sedan-style taxi as part of the joint venture, and the British company will act as Geely’s distributor when the Chinese company starts exporting cars to the U.K. as early as late this year. Russell says the China deal, by providing access to Geely’s engineering expertise and existing car platforms, has freed Manganese to focus on what it does best: “marketing the magic of the London taxi.”

It remains to be seen just how long Azerbaijan’s makeover will endure after the Eurovision competition fades into musical history. Still, the colorful cabs should at least brighten the drive from the airport to Baku along what, until a recent building boom, was the country’s one good highway.

В Азербайджан доставят два новых парома



До конца текущего года в Баку будут доставлены два новых парома.

Об этом сообщил Day.Az начальник отдела информации и печати Азербайджанского Государственного морского пароходства (КАСПАР) Вюгар Садыгов.

По его словам, в хорватском городе Пула строятся два парома - "Барда" и "Балакен".

"Согласно заключенному договору, паромы должны быть готовы к концу 2012 года. В настоящее время проводятся монтажно-завершающие работы. Новые паромы будут введены в эксплуатацию на маршрутах Баку-Актау-Баку и Баку-Туркменбаши-Баку", - сказал В.Садыгов.

Грузовместимость обоих паромов составляет 54 вагона. Длина -154,5 метров, ширина - 18,3 метра, высота борта - 7,5 метров.

В Азербайджане запрещена установка радаров без соответствующих знаков на дороге



Президент Азербайджана Ильхам Алиев подписал распоряжение о внесении поправок в Закон Азербайджанской Республики «О дорожном движении».

Как сообщает 1news.az со ссылкой на официальный сайт Президента Азербайджана, поправки в Закон предусматривают целый ряд серьезных изменений в правила Дорожного движения.

Так, согласно изменениям, водитель должен быть проинформирован о наличии на дороге радара, определяющего скорость движения транспортных средств. В населенном пункте дорожный знак, указывающий на то, что впереди установлен радар, должен быть установлен за 50-200 метров до места его установки. Вне населенного пункта знак должен быть установлен на расстоянии 150-1000 метров до радара.

Также, согласно изменениям, в случае нарушения правил водителем, занимающимся внутригородскими (внутрирайонными) пассажироперевозками, сотрудник дорожной полиции с целью предотвращения задержек внутригородских (внутрирайонных) пассажироперевозок, объявив водителю автобуса о совершенном правонарушении и зарегистрировав государственный номерной знак автобуса, может составить административный протокол о нарушении и вручить его водителю на конечной остановке маршрутного автобуса.

Также важное изменение в законе касается желтой (или белой) сплошной линии, запрещающей парковку. Отныне она без установки соответствующего дорожного знака, запрещающего парковку, считается недействительной.

В Азербайджане открыт новый путепровод

Сегодня на 89-ом километре дороги Баку - Губа – Российская Федерация был введен в эксплуатацию новый путепровод.

Об этом Day.Az сообщил руководитель пресс-службы ОАО "Азерйолсервис" при Министерстве транспорта Азербайджана Пюнхан Мурсалиев.

По его словам, протяженность сооружения составляет 54,5 метров, ширина - 14 метров.

"Количество опор - 4, количество спусков- 3. Строительные работы начались в октябре 2011 года. Путепровод построен в соответствии с современными стандартами", - сообщил П.Мурсалиев.

Зачем? Это бухта, а не пролив. К тому же поток транспорта в ту часть полуострова не так велик. Мне кажется, это показуха и выброшенные на ветер деньги. Можно было на эти деньги построить скоростной транспорт между Баку и Сумгаитом, и не только.

Столько необходимых проектов, а тут вдруг идея выкинуть 1 миллиард на мост, который в лучше случае разгрузит транспортный поток на 5-10%

Названо время сдачи в эксплуатацию крупного подвесного моста в Баку



До конца мая в эксплуатацию будет сдан подвесной мост в рамках создания крупного дорожного комплекса вблизи станции метро "Кероглу", сообщил в понедельник Trend глава пресс-службы АО "Азерйолсервис" (строительство и эксплуатация дорог) министерства транспорта Азербайджана Пюнхан Мурсалиев.

По его словам, работы в рамках строительства нового моста длиной 325 погонных метров практически завершены.

"Сейчас ведется демонтаж опалубки и в течение мая мост может быть сдан в эксплуатацию", - отметил Мурсалиев.

В общей сложности дорожная развязка вблизи станции метро "Кероглу" включает 9 мостов и 11 трасс. Общая протяженность составляет 3600 погонных метров.

Работы по строительству новых дорожных развязок и пешеходных переходов ведутся с целью разгрузки и облегчения передвижения на автомобильных дорогах города Баку.

Azerbaijan hails purple haze of cabs

IN A brick complex in Coventry, England, behind a Mini Cooper dealership and across from a McDonald's, a small car maker's staff is working full tilt to satisfy a determined customer: the president of Azerbaijan.

This is the headquarters of London Taxi Co, the car manufacturer that produces the British capital’s iconic black cabs, known for famed bubble tops and spacious passenger areas with facing seats. These days, Azerbaijan, a faraway country known for caviar and petroleum, if it is known at all, has become the taxi maker’s comrade in arms.

The former Soviet republic is London Taxi’s biggest single customer. It has bought 1000 London cabs in recent months and is planning to order about 3000 more.

Behind the purchases is a grandiose ambition rising on the shores of the Caspian Sea. Azerbaijan’s president, Ilham Aliyev, and other Azerbaijani officials want to wow visitors by replicating London’s taxi force in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku - substituting English sophistication for the dilapidated unlicensed cabs that have plied the city for decades.

Adding to the wow factor, the Baku fleet is deep purple, not black, at the behest of the Caspian country’s leader.

Baku’s new street style will be showcased later this month when the city plays host to the wildly popular Eurovision Song Contest, in which countries across Europe submit a song to be performed in competition on international television.

Azerbaijan is doing the show because it won last year’s contest with a tune called “Running Scared,” performed by the duo Eldar and Nigar. Mr Aliyev proclaimed the win “a victory for the youth of Azerbaijan, the people of Azerbaijan, and the government of Azerbaijan.”

Now, as euro-pop fanatics descend on Baku, Azerbaijan will show off cultural jewels such as bubbling mud volcanoes and natural-gas fire pits. It also wants to put its new English-style taxi fleet front and center.

For decades, Baku and other former-Soviet capitals have been dominated by unmarked, unlicensed cabs that dwellers hail like hitchhikers. The cars are mostly old, cheap Russian-made vehicles resembling toaster ovens on wheels. Passengers endure a fare negotiation that is based on everything from a journey’s distance to the passenger’s good looks.

Starting May 1, however, Azerbaijan officially banned all Russian-made cars from serving as taxis in Baku. Rising instead is Azerbaijan’s dream of becoming a country with a metered taxi service.

Mr Aliyev, who took over as president in 2003 from his father, Heydar Aliyev, summoned car makers in 2010 to a Baku parking lot to evaluate their vehicles and decide which would work best for a new, state-supported taxi fleet.

Daewoo brought a slew of cars. So did Chevrolet. An Azerbaijani company that had imported a few London taxis to rent out for birthdays and weddings also came.

“So everyone shows up to a big car park,” says Matthew Cheyne, international market development director at London Taxi. “All the vehicles were on display, including the London taxis, and the president looks at them and says: ‘Those are the vehicles I want. Those are a taxi to me.’ ”

London taxis are designed to be commodious to an English gentleman’s top hat in the back seat and a trans-Atlantic steamship chest in the trunk. The driver also has a secret pedal that locks the doors. The ones shipped to Azerbaijan were made in China.

In Azerbaijan, the grand unveiling of the new taxis came last year, when the new Baku Taxi Co displayed the first batch along the Caspian waterfront, beneath a monolithic Soviet-era government palace. The cars were the colour of eggplant.

The aubergine hue was apparently Mr Aliyev’s doing. “Mr.President likes them personally,” Azerbaijan’s transport minister, Zia Mamedov, said last year. “He even chose the colour himself.”

Mr Aliyev attended last year’s unveiling and asked to take one of the cabs for a test drive.

“He then proceeded to drive off, and we’ve never seen it again,” says Iain Robb, Azerbaijan country manager for London Taxi.

Mr. Robb isn’t worried: He assumes the purple cab is housed securely with the president’s car collection.

A spokesman for Mr Aliyev said he had no information about the existence of a presidential car collection, or whether the alleged collection now includes a London taxi. “It’s with us at the ministry,” an Azerbaijan Ministry of Transport spokesman insisted. He said the purple taxi in question is kept for demonstrations and shows.

London Taxi landed the deal with Azerbaijan by offering officials more than just cabs. The taxi maker proposed employing a person on the ground in Baku. His job would be to replicate London’s storied cab operation - or at least try.

The man in Baku is Mr Robb, a charming Scotsman who presides from a taxi depot outside the Baku city limits, just past a newly painted, Soviet-era oil derrick.

Mr. Robb tests underperforming drivers by sending them on the road with a fresh egg on the back seat. “Everyone comes back with a broken egg,” Mr. Robb says. “Then I say: ‘That is your passenger.’ ” He said a UK TV station was considering a reality series in which real London cabbies would train their Azerbaijani counterparts.

Chingiz Rustamov, a 46-year-old Baku resident, says the purple cabs “create some hope for a better life.”

Some Azerbaijanis, however, balk at adapting to the new street order. “This is all garbage,” a blogger who goes by the Internet name Capitan wrote in a popular Azerbaijani online car forum last July. “No one can ever replace the old, friendly unlicensed cabbies that stand on every corner.”

В Азербайджане строится новая современная автомагистраль



В Азербайджане будет проложена новая автодорога, отвечающая современным стандартам.

Об этом Day.Az сообщил руководитель пресс-службы ОАО "Азерйолсервис" при Министерстве транспорта Азербайджана Пюнхан Мурсалиев.

По его словам, протяженность дороги Бильгя - Новханы - Сумгайыт составит 42 км.

"В настоящее время строительные работы ведутся на 14-ом километре дороги, от поселка Бильгя до поселка Кюрдаханы. Строящаяся дорога будет состоять из 4-6 полос движения", - сообщил П.Мурсалиев.

На новой дороге будут построены туннель, мост, подземный пешеходный переход.

"На 17-ом км дороги выполнено 70 процентов работ. В настоящее время проектируется участок дороги от 14-го км до 42-го км. Работы в этом направлении близятся к завершению. В ближайшее время строительство начнется и на этом участке дороги", - сказал представитель ОАО "Азерйолсервис".

О сроках завершения строительства новой дороги ничего неизвестно.
