the sidewalk in front of newly opened Sofitel Sukhumvit is magically completely clean and clear..(but the sidewalk stall otherwise all around are packed & busy)...the small clear area is a very nice breather space )

I bet the new Hyatt Hotel (or whatever brand it will be) in front of the Hyde condos will also be clear in front in a few years when it is completed...

finally got round to having a look at the show units yesterday and have to say they are not bad, certainly better looking than Noble Ploenchit which i also looked at on the same day. However not in the same class as the Oriental Residences or Sukhothai, upper mid level for Bangkok i would say.
One slightly odd thing i learned was that the interior design and specification of units for the (100 or so) original buyers would be different from the design of the show units which is what new buyers will get (more or less). The seller i spoke to was unclear about the reasons for this except to say the new units , "should be better" than the original. But i suppose she would say that. I must say if I had been one of the original buyers in this project I would be pretty pissed if I ended up getting a lower quality (if thats what they turn out to be) unit having been messed around so much by GA. It would be interesting to hear from any of the original buyers on here to confirm what GA have said to them about this.

Hi all

showrooms look really good to me! i was impressed,..... as far as i know the spec will be the same for all buyers, new and old...

and now the pavements outside have been cleared of stands and traders...

sales seem to be going ahead well, will soon be sold out!

lets hope that the remaining constuction goes as smoothly!

i went along again on the grand opening day (saturday) and made a point about asking about this. i was again told , by a different sales girl, that the specification for the original units would not be the same as the show units. she did add that this was what they had been told by the developer but they (cbre) were not dealing with the original buyers that was GA themselves so she could not be 100% sure what the situation was. Maybe GA just want to keep the situation a little confused to put potential buyers off dealing with original unit sellers (as per hitony above) rather than buying from the developer at higher prices.

Hi worldchild,

yes i was basically told the same by cbre sales.

so i spoke to GA and was told that the regents speck was in fact higher than the hyde spec, but that there would not be much difference.

hi hitony,

i would have thought it would be better for construction to actually start before you sell your units. prices are going up very nicely now and once construction starts they should go up even more.

it looks like this project will be sold out before it is completed, so i would imagine in around 15 months time you would get a very good price for your units.

by the way, what kind of a price per m2 are you looking at now? you might want to PM me the answer.

I guess you are an original unit buyer. You must have seen description of your unit specification in Hyde? How was it, being compared with your original unit in Regent? Do you think it will not be much difference?

The developer does not have good reputation in the market, unlike Noble or Sansiri. Are you fully confident that they can finish the project?

I have not seen the showroom yet but through the photos, I don't see any difference, if it does, not much.

Absolutely crazy that anyone would buy one of these units before they are completed. Or at least showed some major progress. Has a survey been done to see if the old building is still viable? It has been rusting for several years now... What are they waiting for to start contruction again? They've got a nice show room...but that's about it.

I hope it does complete because it is really a eye sore for that area.

The photos just shows images. What the buyer will be delivered is different. So forget about the image. I am guessing that the materials to be used for the Hyde are likely to be inferior to those of the Regent in order to reduce the construction costs. I am curious how Amarka was presented by GA.
