Yeah, someone suggested that it is indeed possible to have the same thread linked from two forums. It would be great if we could have this thread and the airport thread linked from both the CPH and the Malmö forums.

I can't see any options making that possible, sadly.

BTW, sofar, personally I think that Spain is one of the few countries that have thought seriously about through train tunnels* also for the AVE/TGV/ICE (etc. etc.): see, for example, Barcelona and Madrid, respectively with their Sants-Sagrera and Atocha-Chamartin high-speed tunnels (parallel to the S-Bahn ones) through their city centres.
Sadly, cities that would maybe really need such new city-tunnels (like, for example, Copenhagen, Milan, Frankfurt, Munich and others), still don't seem to have some serious new projects about all this (even if Milan already has the Porta Garibaldi station, which permits central through traffic; and Frankfurt and Munich had their 21 projects - à la Stuttgart 21, - which however don't seem to have materialised, also for the usual economical problems); just to name some big Drehscheiben for international train traffic in Europe. BTW, even in Paris (sofar, the realm of cul-de-sac main stations; and London is even more chaotic, of course, also with minor such stations), there had been a proposal for making a Gare de Lyon-République**-Gare du Nord TGV city-tunnel (alias la transversante), complementary to the interconnexion or jonction at the east of the city (i.e., the well-known tangential TGV link via Eurodisney and CDG)... * See also Malmö's Citytunneln and other similar experiences. ** Well, un peu à la Nørrepòrt, bien sûr...

You can move the thread to the Malmø sub forum and leave no redirect. Then you can move the thread back to the CPH sub forum and choose to leave a permanent redirect thus having a thread that serves as a link to another thread. Give it a try. Never really tried it myself but theoretically it should work.

Fantastic Asbjørn! Works great even though it's not the perfect solution.

Sven G,
The problem with Malmö's Citytunneln is that it is basically at capacity already with commuter (Pågatåg) and regional (Öresund-) trains. Having HST operate in the tunnel will have negative effects on Malmö's metropolitan rail network unless some of it can be offset by extending the CPH Metro (or S-tog) to central Malmö.

... Or one could make a second city-tunnel for high speed traffic: for example, directly from the bridge to Malmö C, via Limhamn (also considering that high speed trains don't really need to stop at secondary stations).
OTOH, IMHO, it would be an error to displace the HST line outside of the city centre (Malmö isn't Paris!). Of course, as you said, the Øresundsmetro might also make the difference, liberating capacity in Citytunneln. Edit: There is already a former goods railway alignment, between Limhamn and Malmö C: ![]() ... which could indeed be used for a new HST tunnel (of course, underground wherever necessary).

Bought the new issue of Monocle to read the 24-page Helsinki guide, and was delighted to find an article about CPH-Malmö called "Twin Cities". Well worth a read.

A bit off topic but I think it deserves a mention that the Øresund Region now has its own cross-boundry festival.
The first Öresund Festival will take place 25-26 May and wants to present the best local acts across genre as well as the boundry. The programme consists of 40 concerts which will take place at various venues in Copenhagen and Malmö. http://ibyen.dk/musik/ECE1620763/res...d-sit-program/

So right you are, fixed and my deep-felt apologies. I didn't know we were spending our time and crashing threads now only to correct typos. You will be very busy though.

Actually, my first thought was that a "festical" was some special form of festival (who knows? could even be...): there was certainly no intention to nitpick.
