Craftwise has moved from (the largest unit in) the Merrion Market to the old Jug & Bottle unit (above the Greggs unit in the picture above), leaving less than half a dozen small units remaining in the market.

The old Poundstretcher is becoming a Poundworld (who'd have thunk it!).

Funny, was just thinking about this this morning. I assume in preparation for the redevelopment works to commence.

The music shop on the corner near the rear entrance now has a 'we're moving' sign. It doesn't state where they're moving, but just says 'but not too far...'. The only remaining business is 'Sheila's', which to be honest I don't know how it stays in business. Once all these units are empty work should begin!

The only downside to the old design of the Merrion centre is that everything looks to have been done piece meal. With refurbishment, you would think it would have a more cohesive design, but it just still seems to perpetuate the 'mish mash' of design in a new version.

I've been and the sandwich was dry and dull and not much different than packaged ones

No sign of works starting yet although as already mentioned John Scheerer Musical Instruments has signs up announcing it will be moving. Also Poundworld will be opening at the former Poundstretcher this Friday at 10am. As for Sheilas I thought they did a good sausage, egg and bacon sandwich back in the day.

was in there today, they said they'll be starting the move in a couple of weeks.

noticed today that the old PDSA/ Attic in Headingley is now going to be a Sue Ryder Vintage and Retro charity shop.

The signs on Sheila's point to the Nosh chain inside the Merrion Centre, not a relocation unless Charlotte's related to Sheila

Council plans to redevelop Merrion House with TCS. TCS to redevelop exterior while council will be responsible for interior. All quite complicated as LCC are actually responsible for exterior under their lease agreement.
