Smile Ethios and Toyota

Do we need to induct Toyota camrys into the Ethio hall of fame?

Just noticing the good majority of Ethios have Toyotas and especially camrys. In my own family all 6 of us have toyotas. 2 camrys, 2 solaras, a 4 runner and a van. In fact the extended family and friends almost all seem to have them. Ive also noticed this in little ethiopia. Anybody also find this a bit odd. Also, Ethios discuss reliable cars like others discuss sports and weather

I was going to say my family is more diverse with our cars, but I started counting and decided it's not diverse, but there is a strong minority. lol
It's split between Toyota and Nissan, but you also have a litter of Honda's and some domestics.

It's very simple. Toyota is solid. There are not many cars in the world where after 250,000 miles you can say, "yep, it still drives like the day I bought it new" (so long as you maintain it properly)

Back home I got a 87 LandCruiser and we were going to replace it just to get a more current model, but why? that thing is a torque beast. In the last few years it has received some nice upgrades.
a new stereo head unit with 4 new speakers
4 new BF Goodrich crawler tires
new red with black accent paint job
Front air-bag suspension conversion
bunch of cosmetic additons/replacements (mainly LED lighting)

There's a good chance I'll be going back again at the end of the year so I will be taking two more air-bags for the rear suspension to complete the full conversion. I will also be taking a turbo-charger for low-end gain. I'm sure there's a dynometer somewhere in Addis.

Mine was an Acura TL. Only one sibling in my family has ever had a Toyota Camry.

My brother has a GMC Envoy, my pops first was an Oldsmobile, my mom a Lincoln, and my other brother a Chevy truck. My sis has an Avalon and my other sis had a Ford.

In the U.S ==> Volkswagen Fox ---> Acura Integra ---> Volkswagen Passat ---> Audi A6
Back home == Citroen --> Corolla --> Abay Executive (Ethiopian made car)

It's a great car...drives like a Toyota for me, even has back-up camera and is GPS ready
It's quite luxurious as well and beats driving a used car from Europe. I've been quite impressed with it overall.

Toyota makes some damn reliable cars traded in for a used 4runner trail couple years back and the thing still runs like it's a few months removed from the floor.... excluding the corvette Toyota reminds me of everything quality wise you could get with chevy back in the day.
