And its likely future if the Rams do indeed decide to leave town?

That is The Rams proposal. Looks like at least $400-500 million worth of renovations, if not more.

Hell, they're practically building a brand new stadium as far as what I'm seeing.

Oh well, off to LA they go:

Quote:
Deputy Mayor Jeff Rainford says the Rams’ proposal would cost a staggering $700 million. A construction industry expert familiar with the Dome project told me that was low: “It would be at least $750 million, probably closer to $1 billion."

What a massive change to the Edward Jones Dome it would be.
it looks like they copy-pasted parts of the bowl from Lucas Oil and Lincoln Financial

It's not a bad stadium as is. From the outside especially it looks better then many other NFL stadiums.

I think the ever more evident question though is what will become of the stadium once the Rams leave.

The weather isn't bad enough to necessitate a roof, but the building is attached to their convention center and is used for MANY events other than football.

The exterior looks more like Ford Field to me.

Considering where they are in the planning stages of this, the renders are going to look very patched together. They probably just took elements from existing drawings they had.

Keep in mind that even if the Rams leave for LA, St. Louis is still a viable market. The city already built one stadium on spec, hoping to lure a team. It worked once, it could work again. How does the St. Louis Jaguars sound to you?

I can actually see that happening..... more than a decade from now.

I think that is true. I think a second LA team either at Farmers or at place like Industry is more likely.

I don't think it would take exorbitant funds to rehabilitate the Edward jones to be competitive. I think it would be hard to argue that St. Louis isn't a better market then Jacksonville or that even now the Edward Jones isn't better then the Jaguars stadium.

That would make sense that it looks like Lucas Oil, as it is HKS that has designed this proposal - the same firm that designed Lucas Oil.

You mean like how Farmers Field is designed to do.

I was thinking that the Rams could take Farmers Field, and that the Raiders could take Roski's palace.

this was the proposal by the Rams TO St. Louis. the cost? 750 million. Chance of it happening? 0.0%

Seriously, they might as well just build a brand new stadium.... which is DEFINATELY not happening.

Remember, now that both the Rams and the CVC have given each other proposals, they will now go to arbitration in June. Apparently (and I use that loosely), the CVC is the party which can make the arbitor's decision binding, not the Rams.

So what does this arbitration mean exactly? What exactly will be "settled" through arbitration, and will the Rams be forced to accept the ruling and have to stay in St Louis?

If anything they're about on the same level with Everbank having the edge. Edward Jones is so dreary and soulless...
