They are building a new clock tower next to that Ankole cow statue as you enter the CBD. I have a feeling it may be similar to those new clock towers that have come up on some roundabouts in Kampala.

I'm curious to find out what they will build on this plot. It's right in the middle of the CBD on High Street (Mbarara's version of main street). Just the right size for a shopping mall or hypermarket.

Mbarara is looking gd it also going to get a world class sports plant and a new bottle plant is u/c the city centre is cleaner and better kept than Kampalas .
to add to that there several structures rising all over the place .

I posted one of the bigger strip malls U/C in post #363 which is nearing completion. As for Kakyeka, we will have to be patient for renovation to start.

I think thats typical for cities in Western Uganda.
Look at Fort Portal, maybe the cleanest city in Uganda.
I've been 1 day in Mbarara and I must say that it also looked clean.
Some parts of Kampala are dirty, but I think you have this in all big cities even in Europe.
