Etheridge was given an additional suspension for his red card in Nepal and will miss the Malaysia match even if he was fit.

Azkals face Guam in Panaad

MANILA, Philippines — Returning to the site of one their biggest victories, the Philippine Azkals will take on Guam on June 12 at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City.

A match against Bahrain’s Under-22 team was initially considered before the Philippine Football Federation decided on inviting Guam, which is positioned near the bottom of the Fifa rankings.

Chelsea Soccer School Philippines officially launched

MANILA, Philippines – Spearheaded by former Chelsea Academy students and now Philippine Football poster boys Phil and James Younghusband, Asia's third Chelsea Soccer School was officially launched at the SM Mall of Asia today.

After Hong Kong and Malaysia, the English club chose the Philippines for its expansion program after the meteoric rise of the Philippine Azkals and their affinity to the Younghusband brothers.

MANILA, Philippines – The high-profile English football club Chelsea is aiming to play a big role in the continued growth and development of football in the Philippines with the formal opening of the Chelsea FC Soccer School.

Chelsea partnered with Philippine Azkals mainstays Phil and James Younghusband to set up the soccer school, which opened to children of all ages and skill levels back in April.

In the formal opening last Tuesday at the Mall of Asia, dozens of children participated in the circuit set up by the Younghusband brothers, which challenged the young players to test their different football skills.

The children have been training in Las Piñas since April under the supervision of The Younghusband Football Academy.

Phil and James Younghusband's UFL club Loyola Meralco Sparks won last night against S-League side Geylang United. This is a sign football is vastly improving in the country even at the club level.

Valiant Loyola win in Singapore Cup debut

Filipino outfit Loyola Meralco Sparks recorded a victory in their RHB Singapore Cup debut on Friday after coming from behind to beat Geylang United 2-1 after extra-time.

Loyola went behind in the 43rd minute when Eagles star Michael King tapped home after a goalmouth scramble, but they hit back two minutes after the hour-mark when Mark Hartmann scored with a fantastic half-volley from the edge of the area.

With neither side able to find another goal in the remaining half-hour, the game then went into extra-time, where the Sparks went on to claim the victory in the 95th minute through centre-back Park Min-ho.

In doing so, they also became the first foreign side to win in the competition this season, after Phnom Penh Crown and DPMM FC bowed out earlier in the week, and assistant coach Vincent Santos believes they were deserving victors.

Speaking of Chelsea, I'm excited to watch the UEFA Champion's League finals tonight. It's going to be Bayern Munich vs Chelsea at the Allianz Arena in Munich. Anybody gonna watch it?

Chelsea will probably be the underdog here because they'll be missing several key players due to suspensions plus the fact that they are the visiting team. But I will still be rooting for them just because they've put up a football school here plus I love underdog teams who can win titles.

Anyway, Balls channel will show this LIVE tomorrow May 20 at 2:45 am. Ahh can't wait!
