Hmm I think this may have solved a mystery. With family living in Wednesfield I visited Wolverhampton a lot as a small kid (though only ever visited Brum itself once
). I distinctively remember an old concrete shopping mall I visited but it wasn't the Bullring, I think it may have been this one! Unless there are others like it in the Metropolis?

Comfortably numb. The mander centre got redeveloped in 2003-2004 but to be honest it's cramped too many people getting in your way all the time and it half empty so not that good lol. Another thing what floor did you get interviewed on.

highlights why I like it so much, great landmark for long journeys on the train at night. Can see it for miles off.I do think it could do with some cleaning up, but beyond that I don't think there's much wrong with it. |

Not a very good photo but just shows how to many Mander House is Wolverhampton's skyline.

Architecturally, there isn't a great deal going for Mander House, let's be honest. But, as a Wolf, I have absolutely nothing but love for it. Only a resident of Wolverhampton knows how good it feels when you're coming back from a long journey and you see that blue haze; you know you're nearing home!
However, even through my rose tinted eyes, the building is in obvious need of some kind of renovation or modernisation. So long, that is, as they don't change the top! Returning home to Wolverhampton wouldn't be the same without it! |
