Hi guys, would just like to share some pictures of my wife's projects as an interior design consultant/contractor. These 2 projects are among of my favorites.

Here are the views of the dining and living area.

The bedrooms took into account the owners’ personality and offered little spots of relaxation.

We like to call this headboard feature the “rain maker”

This project was featured recently in the latest issue of Space Magazine

I was lucky to be able to visit the said unit before turnover to owner that weekend. I must say that it would really be relaxing to come home to this space. The view of the city is something I don’t mind waking up to every day.

Hope you like the pictures!

Thanks for viewing Smiley

Kudos to your wife's job, Mr. SpacesForUrbanLiving! Wish I had the funds to come up with such a classy interior! By the way, the 'Rain Maker', I'd like to call it the 'Snowster' hehehe!

Hi everyone! We just had our condo unit turned over to us a few weeks back and we're thinking about getting an interior designer to help us out...but I'm not really very familiar about how to get or pick one...so I have a few questions I hope you can help me with:

1. How does the process of getting the services of interior designer goes? Do we pay first to confirm that we are getting your services, or do you propose a design and the only time we pay is if we get your team to execute the design?

2. How would we know if the price we're paying for an ID is cheap, average or on the expensive side already? How much do IDs charge?

3. Related to #1, can we contact 2-3 designers then pick which one we like best without paying for their proposals?

4. Lastly, we're thinking of just getting IDs to help us with cabinetry only...would that lower the fee?

Thanks!

For architecture I'll take the help of an architect but regarding home interiors I'll do my self.

slated to open this year

Fil-Am architect designing 2,000-seat Cebu Church–something that’s never been seen
http://lifestyle.inquirer.net/33059/...ever-been-seen

*****************
Arnaiz, who finished architecture at Harvard University, has been practicing for a little over 12 years now. After working for a number of firms in the US, he put up his own architecture firm in Brooklyn, CAZA or Carlos Arnaiz Architects, almost four years ago, and now employs a dozen or so associate architects from various parts of the globe.

*****************

The 1,000-seat, 2,220-sq m Shrine of Mary is in the South Reclamation Zone in Cebu. Arnaiz plans to create a main entrance set against a series of walls with varying heights.

The project is financed by SM, which is building a mall complex in Cebu similar to SM Mall of Asia in Manila.

The entrance evokes the mystery one supposedly experiences while wandering through a mythical forest. The series of walls symbolizes the many paths and obstacles one goes through to arrive at one’s own enlightenment, said Arnaiz.

“Construction started this month. The building should be finished before the end of 2012. The owners’ goal is to have Christmas Mass celebrated in the church this year,” he added.

CAZA is also into urban planning and gentrification. The company will have a project with the Cebu City government to improve the streetscape of historic Osmeņa Avenue.

The gentrification project along the 2 km stretch entails creating a series of sidewalks, patterns and monuments from downtown to the city hall building. It also involves a series of “traffic-calming” devices, lamps and benches.

“It’s probably one of the simplest and humblest projects we’ve done, but it’s one of my favorites,” said Arnaiz. “It’s different from other projects we’ve done, that’s why I’m proud of it.”
