It would also make it much easier for people to move between T1D and T3, since T1D is on the ORR line too.

I agree, this is an obvious interchange point that needs to be added.

Thanks bro for news and the map. That's a good news I have a suggestion. Could you please extend the dotted line slightly beyond Subhash Place? Right now it looks like it is an elevated or at grade station since u/g portion ends just before it.

BTW, did DMRC mention u/g ramp at Shalimar Bagh earlier in their tender when NIT for Mukundpur and Azadpur station and corridor was released?

Also, do you have any idea what does this semi-underground thing mean? Does it mean that platforms are u/g at -1 level and concourse is at grade?

When I read this article earlier, I wondered why Badli station would need an interchange with ORR. Now that you have pointed out that is Badli Mor (or Shalimar Place), I understood DMRC's logic. Good to see DMRC thinking ahead of time.

I hope that my biggest concern - integration of Punjabi Bagh stations of ring road line and green line - is taken care of in this way.

Ya, it should be to the best of my knowledge.

The article is fine. The platforms will be at different levels:

level -1: commercial development
level 0: commercial development
level 1: concourse
level 2: Line 2 platform (phase 3)
level 3: Line 8 platform (phase 4)

btw the contract to construct this station was handed to J Kumar in February. Work should have begun by now.

Will update and post it in the next edition of the contractor map.

Yes they did but now that element will be scrapped

Yes that's what my understanding of semi-underground is as well.

Sorry but that ain't happening. The NIT for the Shakurpur - Punjabi Bagh ESI Hospital - Rajouri Garden - Mayapuri stretch mentions an elevated viaduct and with elevated stations. That was the last nail in the coffin for an underground station.

Has any article suggested any FOB between the two stations in their scope of work? I read the notice, detailed scope of work is not there.

none that I know of. If there was then it would get highlighted in this thread.

That's why it's called a notice. The tender documents with detailed designs and scope of that section can only be viewed after paying Rs 21000.

haan... yehi Gentem ke saath karna baaki reh gaya hai :P

I'll keep running the Delhi Metro Updates page on facebook from there itself. though it's been 2 years and the number of subscribers is pathetic. then again, do I look like I'll stop? other stupid Delhi Metro groups have thousands of likes, but I'll get there steadily thanks to all of you too for posting stuff, which I steal greedily and post there and still fail to get more likes :P genuine thanks to all though

I had one blooodyyyy amazing ride on Line 3 to Dwarka Sector 21 today.

while crossing Dwarka station, (couldn't they name it Dwarka Dwar or Dwarks Entrance instead, creates such a confusion for first timers), you know that Metro underbridge, which goes all the way to Dwarka Depot; I saw a train rolling by over there. have seen still ones earlier but, to see it rolling under you when are moving was quite a sight no matter how slow it was.

also, the train approached the terminal with full speed today. it usually halts before changing tracks because of the other train leaving before it.

the listing of the train before approaching Dwarka Metro station from Dwarka Mor Metro station is very beautiful, especially when you have a Bombardier coming from the opposite side, visible along with the complete station, because of the curve. This happened today. when the 2 trains are crossing each other on the curve, then the approximate distance between their window base levels seems to be 1 foot, which normally would be at the same level, and the tilt is really enjoyable.

bohat bakwass ho gayi.

Green signal to 3 metro extensions

Summary: 3 extensions - Yamuna Vihar to Shiv Vihar on line 7 (2.7 km), Dwarka to Najafgarh on blue line (4.5 km) and Mundka to Bahadurgarh on green line (9.5 km) have received approvals from secretaries(?) of central govt. Only empowered group of ministers (GoM)'s approval is required now for inclusion in Phase-III.

After approval of these lines, Phase-III will become ~140 km. Other lines awaiting approval are Ghaziabad extn (9.4 km), Noida extn of blue line (~7 km), Gurgaon extn of Airport line (~11 km).

First pic related to the construction of Line 7 (Ring road line).

In the background is the batching plant site for the Yamuna bridge (602.8 m long).

The colors for phase 3/4's new lines haven't been revealed yet.

Also, apart from the violet and yellow line's extensions, the opening of all other lines/extensions will spill into 2016.
