Cebu, Philippines
BRT Pre Feasibility Client: World Bank The project has confirmed the highest priority corridor for introduction of BRT based upon the potential benefits and probability of successful implementation, and, included the preparation of a concept plan for an integrated comprehensive public transport system for the corridor. The concept plan includes potential land development impacts, institutional and regulatory arrangements for implementation, operation, management and finance and the potential role for public private partnerships. Other important components within the study were active consultation and engagement of stakeholders, branding and a delivery plan for implementation. Cebu City transport strategy development, the Philippines - The Cebu South Road Properties (SRP) is a major mixed use development built upon reclaimed land located some 2km west of Cebu City centre. It represents major growth in both residential, commercial and retail development. At its peak the development will generate in excess of 20,000 trips per hour. ITP was appointed by GTZ through the City Development in Asia (CDIA) initiative to develop a transport strategy for the SRP. This involved developing a trip generation database for the SRP and a means of distributing trips and determining mode share using spreadsheet modelling techniques. A three phase public transport strategy was developed that matched the development timeframe. This strategy started with a conventional bus service, migrating to a high quality public transport route before culminating in a full BRT that complements the proposed City BRT when operational. The strategy was developed through close liaison with investors in order to make most of the relationship between land use and transport. Cebu, Philippines Transport Strategy for Reclamation Area Client: GTZ – CDIA The South Road Properties is a major development area linked to Cebu BRT formed through reclamation. A 75% public transport mode share target has been set requiring a comprehensive high quality public transport strategy, exemplar accessibility throughout the development and a fully integrated approach to master plan development. ITP seek to ensure that the transport strategy meets these ideals. ___________________________________ New Office in Cebu, Philippines January 2012 ITP is pleased to open a new office in Cebu, Philippines. This office will support ITP’s growing workload in South East Asia and become a focal point for on-going work in developing the country's first BRT system in Cebu. ![]() ![]() Source: Integrated Transport Planning Ltd

But I hate the idea of actually using RH bill to CURB the population. The effect on the long-term economic prospect could be disastrous. China will get old before it even goes to the income level of 1st World Countries. To make contraception and condoms available are one of the main points I want to emphasize. Not necessarily to make it compulsory. Just to make the method widely available. The current growth rate is enough to sustain the population. What we need is a sustainable population not a decline in the future.

@kenken, i think, the RH bill is just to educate the people on how to use the condoms properly, because it is observed that improper use of condom could result to pregnancy.
Having it compulsory is another thing, and am surely against with that.
