If the rent at Newstead is $250/sqm cheaper than in the CBD and the average office worker takes up 14sqm of space then that's a saving of $3500 per employee per annum (plus rental review rates p.a.). |

the campus-sized floorplates is probably more important than the cheaper rent. it allows "collaborative team building" and "harmonious decision making"

There's about three cores rising actually, on the shopping centre/office building/apartment tower site. They are absolutely full steam ahead. Also, I saw some soil testing going on at the BOQ site yesterday. FKP has had a management shake-up.

Can't wait for the speculation for retailers, we know the supermarket but wonder if they will try to make it James Street like.

Does FKP have a good track record for retail precincts?

It's interesting that the James Street Markets are interested in going in, as it's not a huge way away from James Street really, and it will be in there with a supermarket – wouldn't that be a little counterproductive for them?
I don't think it will be much like James Street at all, probably a lot more "suburban", like Brunswick St New Farm. The Woolies and probably a few cafes and restaurants, but some with more service-type businesses like chemists, newsagents, etc etc. |

Even in medium density it's only what, less than 5 mins away on a bus? And the markets are appealing to a niche type of market (those who want better than supermarket fare). I still would think it's a bit too close, particularly if they're straight duplicating the setup they have on James St.

Taking photos in those light conditions can be a right pain in the backside, so good job! It's going to be a pretty nice area when it's fleshed out a bit more.

I noticed that lit up last night while driving along KSD. It looked quite good, however not as good as Soliel with the remaining daylight reflecting off it - it really does look stunning from that angle.
