A very similar design was used on regional trains by Deutsche Bundesbahn in the late 80ies, too...

I guess they are muted like in Portuguese railways or airplanes. Sound is provided by headphones available in the seats.

Could someone please update me on the status of this project?
As far as I know it should already be possible to take a train from Bakı to Tbilisi and Ahılkelek: is there already any passenger railroad connection between Ahılkelek and Kars? And if not.. is there for example a bus service available to Kars from Georgia? Or is the only open border crossing still at Sarpi?

The railroad between Ahilkelek and Kars is under construction and it will be completed in 2013 (Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railroad project).

As far as I know, the train Moscow-Baku was not allowed for use by
foreigners. Is it still the case today ? I'd love to get there, but the
train from Moscow is the only solution for me...
