How come nobody complains when continental sides have spent as much. It seems as though everyone accepts that it's Real Madrids right to have unlimited spending power! The first 5 European Cup wins were bought by Real Madrid with their dream team, why does nobody ever mention this? Look at the Italian sides who've bought titles, and bought referees, why is this okay?
Maybe when Celtic and Notts Forest won Euro cups, they won on tight budgets, but those days are long gone.
I think English teams deserve some glory, the fans spend an absolute fortune on ticket admission and the sides are well supported right the way down the leagues, which isn't the case in most other countries.
Take away the glory clubs from every top 1st/2nd division league in Europe, and it's only England and Germany who have any well attended teams left.
I'm sorry for Bayern, but not as sorry as I was for Chelsea a few season back when Barca had one shot on goal and numerous dubious decisions go their way and they trickled through going on to win the cup. Or, as sorry as I was for Man Utd against Porto when they had various decisions and goals dissallowed, again Porto went on to win the cup against a shocking Monaco.

It's not a hatred of English, as much as some people on here try to make it so. I've not even criticised the spending, BUT I do think teams that spend so much money and have such fantastic players at their disposal should at least be able to play attractive football. As JimB says, Bayern Munich aren't exactly resolute at the back.
