bilingual signs in Croatia (Italian-Croatian). it wouldn't be anything weird if it was in Istria. but these villages are some 250 km of air line to the east, in Western Slavonia, precisely - here.. absolutely weird location for Italian minority
![]() (trivia: that area has significant Czech minority and Czech/Croatian bilingual signs are not weird there) ![]() ![]()

i have found it: Korođ/Kórógy. i am sure there is also Laslovo/Szentlászló - there is one of the largest Hungarian communities in Croatia.

well that's what i asked myself too! but how did i find it? i made a wrong turn and looking for a place to turn back suddenly i saw the sign Banovac Maggiore. whoa! this is interesting, let's investigate! and so i found that bunch of villages.
i have found this: http://www.unione-italiana.hr/ci_plostine.htm it could give you some explanation. nearby is also village Hrastovac/Eichendorf which had significant German population. i say had because Tito & company did you know what. i am not sure that there is written Eichendorf on the table. http://www.hrastovac.net/ this all is very interesting to me, and it is not far, maybe some 60-70 km from me, so definitely i will go there, try to speak with people and invastigate it. i saw few cars with Udine plates there

and today i asked my father about it, and he coldly told me that he knew it and that he had been buying horse salamis there in the past
salamis made me to definitely believe that Italians live there.

There are some similar examples in Czechia, i.e. Varnsdorf, A (Asch), Tanvald (Tannwald)...

There is another Reichenau, we call it Bogatynia now and it's really rich place as it should be regarding it's name.

Hungarian bilingual tourist sign near by border crossing TornyosnémetiMilhosť (Slovakia). Debraď is a small village in Slovakia.
Originally there was no additional table with official Slovak name.
