Good news that they're replacing the seats. It was already showing its age, exacerbated by the problem that sections are coloured differently. It doesn't look like it judging from the VIP seats, but I'd had hoped they would stick to yellow seats with Fener written in dark blue or vice versa.
The expansion is interesting. They already have the 2nd biggest club stadium in the country, and only just trailing by a few thousand. To be fair Fener could be one of the biggest clubs in Europe as the Turkish league improves in the future, so 60k isn't too big for them. Still, with FFP coming in, might as well do it now if they can. No point in waiting around. I just wonder, had this stadium been 60k from the beginning, would Turk Telecom be 53,000 today? PS I always knew Istanbul was densely populated, but that one picture above is like a mini New York. And I'm guessing thats only a suburb because I dont see too many skyscrapers. |

- Looks like they've just replaced the VIP seats
- honestly i still do not believe that it can be expanded. Actually every year we have this "story". Mainly when they loose the championship - The rivalary between both clubs is huge . If SS was 60,000, than TTA would have been ~60,000 too ![]() - Actually the tickets are quite expensive. IMO Gala and Fener could sell 60,000 season tickets every year. The stadium is on the asian part and nearly every new skyscraper is more for residential use ![]() The new cladding for the goal stands

According to this article the club plans to make the stadium more comfortable
Wider seats, stairs, more room etc Capacity will sink to 45,000 http://skorer.milliyet.com.tr/%C5%9F...27/default.htm

A 3rd tier would look good here.It would have to be like 25 rows(like the lower two) if it were to contain 5000 new seats, each end that is.A 36-37 degree tier should do it.The acoustics would be crazy
imagine 30k ultras at the derbies. The finished product would be very similar to allianz arena, but much more noisier

Actually current 2nd tier of the West and East stand is already 35-36°
BTW there isn't enough space behind the stadium ![]() ![]() BTW, made it some years ago ![]() BTW, if they add a 3rd tier with 25 rows, the capacity would be ~ 70,000 or more?

I meant a third tier only in the ends ,the stands are already tallish why add another tier there. The sides look really good but the ends look out of place(sorta).

They could overhang the 2nd tier more(10-15 rows),but a 45 degree angle would be necessary. The end result wouldnt be cool, with two different ends. They could have rougly 10 rows outside de stadium line, somethign similar to anfields Kop.But there are a few meters there imo, where there are parked vans right next to the stadium wall.Enough space for 10 rows surely(with another 10 rows overhang) it is doable. And they could house the away fans there and hope they dont like the 45 degree angle.

45° 3rd tier at all stands would be great
![]() But i think its more realistic that the club will move to somewhre else if they need a bigger one.

Unless they build a much larger new stadium why move?only if they decide on a 60k stadium or more should they move.Of course a new stadium on the same spot would be ideal,if there is space. Is the current location a bad one,or one that they can give up on easily? |

Actually iFener plays here since 1907
![]() I think its the 4th stadium at the same location BTW there were rumours that they plan to built a 100k at the east part of the city. If Fener plans to have a bigger stadium (maybe in 20 years) than it would be at least 70k. And 70k is nearly impossible here.

The seating does not look very spacious when it come to room for the legs of spectators. Which is strange since it is such a new stadium. Or are the pictures misleading?

I think its 0,75m.I've been on plenty of stadiums with fixed seats an the legspace does seem slightly smaller.0,75m is very acceptable though, its perfect for ends and upper tiers where the hardcore fans are.
