Like the others most will be empty long after they open. Souq Al Bahar 90* unoccupied shop units. Qamardeen Souq 99% have moved out after being 10% occupied with only the laundry remaining. Al Manzil Souq: 50% empty. Is it high rent from Emaar? |

From the concept it looks like the towers just reached half of the total hight. So I would guess one or two years still to come.

Berliner, you are wrong. The building consist of 45 floors. I counted at least 37-39 floors from the last pictures. Remember the villas/stores in the back or front of the building are deceiving, meaning, you don't get the full perspective. The building will be done and ready for handover, the first quarter of next year, if not sooner. If Emaar goes beyond the first quarter of next year, they will have to pay another set of penalties to the purchasers . Most everyone has already received a percentage for the delays or deducted from the balance due. I doubt if Emaar would be delaying this project any further. God willing, we will have our apartments ready for handover latest, by march of 2013.

I'm in Dubai and went by the job site offices(across the street from the actual building on Emaar Blvd.) and Emaar Square(building 2) where the handover offices and customer services are located. Last Friday, I went by the job site and tried convincing the security guard to be able to take the service elevator to my floors to see what the progress is like, check out the view and the floor plan. Well, the security guard wouldn't go for it. On Monday, went to the job site offices and spoke to the contractor in charge and asked him if he can arrange the viewing. The answer was absolutely NOT!!! We talked about 15-20 minutes and he informed me that the Tower-1 is slightly taller than Tower-2 (3-4 floors) and by the end of the year the building will be done. According to him they are only 7-8 floors remaining. The handover time will be the 3rd to 4th month in 2013. This is because it takes Dewa and the municipality three months or so to finalize the building for electricity, water etc....God willing and no further delays and no unforeseen events, we should be able to have our apartments soon.
