I'm still waiting for that episode of Bones where halfway through they're like, ah fuck, no big deal, he just died of AIDS.

Man, I forgot all about POGs. I loved those things for a year or so as a kid. No lie, but I am pretty sure I owned that 8 Ball sawblade. I remember getting a bunch at Hardees/Carl's Jr. which offered sets promoting the movie, Apollo 13. Thanks for the nostalgia Paddington.

Anybody here watching Game of Thrones Season 2? The Blackwater battle is probally one of the most cinematic single episodes to ever grace the small screen. Top to bottom, this has to be one of the best acted shows I have seen.

Yes, although I preferred series 1... There are a lot of new characters in season 2 and I couldn't really keep up! The scripts are excellent, well acted, and I love how English it is.

Season 2 throws alot at you so it's a good idea to read the books. Season 3 /4 in terms of plot will be insane.

Yer I've finally caught up and watched both seasons now. I'm reading the books atm, I'm on 'A Feast For Crows', so I had no problem understanding which characters were which...but I can see how it could become confusing.

I agree, the Blackwater battle was epic, I loved the *SPOILER* wildfire bit where that ship blew up, it was beautifully done, one of the best CGI scenes in a tv series I've seen in quite a while, in fact the whole battle was done justice imo, which I never thought they'd be able to, given the scale of what was written in the books.

My favourite tv shows in the last couple of years have been The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones. There's a new show called 'The Newsroom' which I think is already out in the US, written by Aaron Sorkin which looks interesting, I'll give that a watch.

Yeah, the Blackwater episode was pretty amazing for being an hour long t.v. show with a limited budget. The cool thing about this show is the sheer number of characters and how you can care about each one. I think by the end of it's run, GoT will be considered the greatest t.v. show ever.

Walking Dead is also a great show. Like GoT, season 3 will be pretty insane for anybody that read the comics. People complained about how slow it moved in Season 2 but it had some really great episodes and dialouge.

I have to say I am one of the ones that...well, complained I guess is the word....about some aspects of season 2 of TWD, after the frenetic pace of season 1, season 2 was a bit a downer in some ways, spending the whole time on that dam farm, I got to wishing they'd finally just up-sticks and get back to being on the run, also the little boy and his mother (who i really liked as Sarah in 'Prison Break') frankly just started to annoy me, the boy in particular is a dumbass, and the mother is a whiney hoe.

But that aside, I still enjoyed the season, the character development was good, there were a lot of great zambie scenes, the guy with the crossbow (forgotten his name) is still kickin ass and taking numbers (if he dies I may not watch it any more!). Don't know anything about the comics but season 3 looks set to be good.

The problem was that they had twice as many episodes in season 2 as they did in season 1. They had to pack alot more in season 1 and that made the show alot more exciting. I didn't care for alot of the Lori/Rick-Rick/Shane arguments in season 2 but season 2 did offer some pretty amazing scenes. The big zombie battle at the beginning and end of the season in particular, as well as a few major character deaths.

Like you, I hate Lori as a character. She is such an obnoxious bitch all the time. She needs to die in this show. There are too many good characters to waste time on her. Darryl, the crossbow guy, is the coolest character. I also like Shane, Merle, Glenn, Rick (for the most part), and Herschel. Herschel going 'God Mode' with unlimited ammo in his shotgun in the finale was the best.

How unbelievably boring. How he even has the cheek to fall to the ground as if he isn't bored off his tits of winning it.

Has anyone else watched the programme about Lonesome George, the last giant tortoise of his kind, on iPlayer?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode...for_Galapagos/

I liked the bit (25mins in) where Graciella is brought into masturbate some seaman out of George (she looks quite the professional in this area) but she cannot get him aroused enough. And now George and his entire species are extinct. If only Graciella was a bit younger and more attractive
