This is actually quite enjoyable.
Just flipped over to Fox News and they're talking about Pippa Middleton.

Just attempted to see the Jubilee pagent. The whole of Arundel Street was full to the brim so I walked to Blackfriars. Hundreds upon hundreds of people so naturally no-one could see a thing. There were a few people (mostly children) standing on lamposts etc who had a view, and the rest of the crowd just had to go by what they said. 'Oh there's the boat I can see the Queen, yes it's the Queen', 'Oooooooooooooooh!' It was so farcical it was actually funny!

My girlfriend's working at the "Big Jubilee Lunch" at Greenwich today, playing "Alice" and teaching people to play croquet.
She wants me to come down and have a drink with all her colleagues when they're done at 5pm. Unfortunately Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger is on C5, so...I don't think so.

it's fucking horrible... last night there was a bloody parade on the seafront and the noise from brass bands and pricks with drums was just plain disturbing. imagine 1000 drummers going past your window? ugh. can't they do it on the beach rather than the road outside

more to the point, the sea front isn't a commercial district. there are almost no shops on it at all, it's almost entirely residential (apart from a few hotels here and there)... i want to get a fucking brass band and celebrate my gran's birthday on someone else's residential street.

Fully enjoyed the pageant, just a real pity the weather has been dreadful.
Still, yet another testament to event organising by the British - further global positive coverage for our fair isles. A few people on my facebook grumbling (somewhat ignorantly, as per usual) about waste of taxes and the likes, same old.. But all in all great to see such a turnout for a truly historical day. |

i know, let's get a thousand people to bang fucking drums outside YOUR window. if norman cook isn't allowed to throw a party on the beach normally why the fuck should anyone else be allowed to? the whole point of environmental health is it's done equitably.

Has this thread really turned into the Gothic moaning about a drum outside his window thread? Really?

actually i'm moaning about the fact that they didn't do the bloody parade through the commercial centre of town. there have been hundreds of complaints from residents here... environmental health actually shut the pub at the far end of the road on saturday because of the noise.

What a disaster. Shit weather, bridges and streets cut off by police so crowds can't see and the queen looking utterly miserable.
