The Circle Line MRT2 is planned to be built in two phases. The first phase which includes the section from Ampang to Sentul Timur via Mid Valley is targeted to be completed by 2020.
Is that means it will interchange with Sentul Timur (LRT1) and Mid Valley (LRT2/Komuter) also??!

Hopefully it would not be like the "integration/interchange" empty promises at KL Sentral for the MRT1 and KL Monorail with the current networks.

The ampang via melawati/setapak to sentul corridor i think is the upmost priority in the future. The population density in these areas should justify a need for of transit system. The highways serving these area have reached it max capacity during peak hours.

Agree ! If the line (Ampang-melawati-sentul) is already in place in the future, I can imagine how the traffic at MRR2 will be reduce drastically...With the upcoming SUKE , i dont think the traffic will be even better..Err..How about BRT along MRR2 ?

THE carpark at the Sri Petaling LRT station has been closed to facilitate work to install two escalators at the station.

The carpark, located at the west side of the station will re-open on May 28.

“We need to close the area as we need to bring in a 200-tonne and a 500-tonne mobile cranes for the work. The area will be closed to both cars and motorcycles,” said Syarikat Prasarana Negara Berhad (Prasarana) rail division group director Khairani Mohamed.

Prasarana is the umbrella company for RapidKL.

“We would like to apologise to the public for any inconvenience caused as a result of this excercise,” he said.

According to Khairani, installation of two escalators and lifts at the station was part of the upgrading programme for the LRT Ampang Line, which commenced in 2010.

RapidKL makes history with first train driving simulator
Published: 2012/06/01
http://www.btimes.com.my/Current_New...ras31/Article/

KUALA LUMPUR: Syarikat Prasarana Negara Bhd's rail and bus services operating outfit, Rangkaian Pengangkutan Integrasi Deras Sdn Bhd (RapidKL), yesterday made into the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) for being the owner of country's first train driving simulator.

The certification by MBOR, witnessed by the Deputy Human Resource Minister Datuk Maznah Mazlan, also placed the Ampang Line Train Driving Simulator as among the "Best of Nation" products.

The simulator was jointly launched with the Prasarana National Dual Training System (NDTS) at a ceremony held at Ampang LRT Station by Maznah. The NDTS is supported by the Rail Academy, another unit under the Prasarana Rail Division.

Also present at the ceremony were Prasarana Rail Division group director Khairani Mohamed; MBOR founder and managing director Datuk Danny Ooi; RapidKL Rail Academy head Ismail Abdullah; Human Resources Ministry Skills Development Department director-eneral Dr Pang Chau Leong.

In her speech, Maznah said RapidKL and the Skills Development Department of the ministry have taken an excellent initiative to implement the NDTS to raise the competency levels of RapidKL train drivers.

"I believe Prasarana will also utilise the Ampang Line Train Driving Simulator for the NDTS module to further enhanced the train driving skills of RapidKL drivers," she said at the launching ceremony.

Maznah said the rail transport system has a very important role in supporting the Government's initiatives to make Malaysia a developed nation by 2020.

Meanwhile, Prasarana's Khairani said the Ampang Line Train Driving Simulator is a training aid in the System Competency Training Programme under the Rail Academy.

The Rail Academy has listed a total of 417 employees from the three routes, namely the Ampang Line, Kelana Jaya Line and the Monorail line to be registered in the NDTS programme.

Speaking to reporters later, Maznah said the use of the simulator will definitely go a long way in enhancing the training programmes organised by the Rail Academy as training can be held anytime and will not disrupt RapidKL train operations.

Info - MRT1 or KVMRT will interchange with the existing KL Sentral via. an underground paid link that will link directly to the KTM Komuter platforms & the LRT paid concourse area. Access will also be provided up to concourse via. lifts & a remote fareline to serve the KTM Intercity & ERL.

That's what they said about the KL monorail integration at KL Sentral and look what they're building right now, and seeing the video about the KL Sentral MRT station also there are no mention of paid area interchange, just link to the station building only, he he.

I think you can take his word. I guess he is somewhat involved in the construction to have obtained such crucial info.

Well, MRT seems to have a higher level of integration so far, judging by the plans in their videos. Secondly, you can trust sgmrtbuilder. He was spot on with a lot of stuff here on the Singapore side of stuff as he was involved in projects here. Similarly, should be able to go by his word for the KV project.
