@@@@@

Looking @ the Blvd Tshatshi. That must be the standard of cleaness..... And its the reason y i don't like street vendors ( everyone should be in petit Zando in each Quartier, though commercial construction for Boutiques and Kiosks must be standarized as well)....

I sometimes wish that someportions of this road could be 2x2 rather than a
1x1. For the main transport road out of Kinshasa, this is realtively small. Lots of accidents happening between trucks and cars, and I have seen images of some portion of the road being completely blocked following some accidents.

I also remember reading that there was a plan by the Word Bank back in the days to extend the road in a 2x2 but the plan was later on cancelled.

Even 2x2 would still be too small for this strategic road. As a matter of priority, they should postpone the construction of a ring road (beltway) around Kinshasa and use the funds to enlarge the Kinshasa – Matadi section of the RN1 to a 3x3 highway.

See this video of the Douala-Yaounde road (231 Km), a little bit better than Kinshasa-Matadi, but roughly the same issue two lane road will all accidents and lack of side parking. Now Cameroon is moving towards having a newly build highway between the two cities.

Basically, cameroun has engaged in building a new deep water port and getting a highway to join both cities...that is what I call long-term planning.
