Also there is one u/c in sharm. It's going to have the Largest Lagoon on Earth ![]() It's all bride to North Africa and Africa :P Though Morocco Mall looks SOOOO good that I'm actually jealous :P

LOL, we have huge population you see, so it understandable. We have lots of shopping streets too. Though malls is what companies prefer to build so that they can lease store if you get what I mean.
BTW this is off-topic but I'm hoping to see Moroccan designers in Cairo Fashion Week next year cairofashionweek.com I'm only kidding :P

There are two types of major shopping malls: Regional and Super Regional. A regional mall has a floor area of 37,000 to 74,000 sq m (400,000 to 800,000 sq ft) and at least two anchor stores. A super-regional mall has a floor area of over 74,000 sq m (800,000 sq ft) and at least three anchor stores. By the look of these guidelines, I would like to ask this: Are there any regional malls or super-regional malls anywhere in the African Continent?
The majority of the regional/super regional malls in Africa have to be in the north of the continent or at South Africa, but do those type of malls exist outside those areas? (I know this is supposed to be a photo thread and couldn't find a discussion thread, so I had no choice but to post it in this thread.)

In terms of Super-Regional Malls >74 000sqm, the following spring to mind (in no particular order after the first three): 1) Gateway Theatre of Shopping, Durban 2) Sandton City Mall, Johannesburg 3) Canal Walk, Cape Town 4) The Pavilion, Durban 5) EastGate Shopping Centre, Johannesburg 6) Menlyn Park, Pretoria 7) Centurion Mall, Pretoria 8) Cape Gate, Cape Town 9) WestGate Shopping Centre, Johannesburg 10) Cresta Shopping Centre, Johannesburg 11) NorthGate Shopping Centre, Johannesburg 12) TygerValley Mall, Cape Town 13) Oriental Plaza, Johannesburg 14) Greenstone Mall, Johannesburg 15) Mall of the North, Polokwane 16) The Galleria, Durban 17) Hemingways Mall, East London 18) V&A Waterfront Mall, Cape Town (if I'm not mistaken) Planned Super-Regional Malls that I can think of: 1) Atlantic Mall, Cape Town
