Since 2003, the NWKRTC was being requested/begged by locals of Siddapur (North Kanara district) for constructing a new bus stand or atleast renovate the existing one. The bus stand was in pathetic condition till recently (with a terribly old building which could collapse anytime and with a parking space for buses that was full of potholes.

In 2011, NWKRTC gave an assurance for the umpteenth time that a new bus stand will be constructed at a new place. And as usual, nothing happened.

Now finally, they have started repairing the old bus stand. It is partly being demolished and being repaired.

1-multiaxle volvo[from mys 1300]

KSRTC to set up school for drivers in Malur

Malur, Jun 13, 2012, DHNS :
Aims at providing job opportunities to rural youth

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has planned to set up institutes at a cost of Rs 8 crore to impart training for drivers in Malur, Malavalli and Chikmagalur, said Manjunath Prasad, Managing Director of the KSRTC.

Inspecting the land identified for the institute near KSRTC depot at Hanumanthnagar on Tuesday, he said 5,000 drivers will be trained in the institute every year. “The corporation has submitted a proposal to the government seeking setting up of the institute for drivers’ training as part of its initiative to curb accidents due to drivers’ inefficiency.”

It is also a joint venture of the corporation, the Social Welfare Department and Directorate of Employment and Training, aimed at providing employment to youths in rural areas. Priority will be given to the members of the backward classes and castes. The respective departments will bear the cost of training of the youths and accommodation will be given free of cost during the one-month training.

Rs three crore has been allocated for the automotive training and Rs five crore for the driving and tender will be invited in the coming weeks, he said. Work will be completed in 10 months on the institute, which he claimed, is the first of its kind initiative in the country.

On the bus stand and other basic facilities for Malur, Prasad said, if the town municipal council allocated land for the project, Rs two crore will be sanctioned for the facilities.

The issue will be discussed with the local legislator, he said directing the officials to identify land in three areas and prepare a blueprint. “Besides, city bus service will soon be launched in Kolar and Rs 2-crore work on the bus station in Mulbagal will commence soon.”

puneethgs, I guess you did not read my comments completely.

I know there is no Volvo service b/w MYS-CKM.... But i have a pdf downloaded from KSRTC website which has info on all Volvo/Club class departing from MYS.

the info that you provided earlier could have been obtained from the KSRTC website..a simple task..

I m not telling that there is a volvo service b/w MYS-CKM...but the pdf says so...


Thats the reason i m asking senior forumers to help me in uploading the pdf.

Not just that, it also mentions abt a club class b/w MYS-MNG..and two dedicated Volvo on MYS-SMG route..

The pdf dates to last August....

Neverthless i am posting the link....

I wanted to confirm whether these services ever existed!! or will be added in future.. thats it..not that i want the info on the existing routes..

KSRTC INTERNAL NEWS

THE KSRTC HEAD OFFICE ARE READY TO GIVE THE NEW 8 VOLVO BUSES FOR CKM DIVISION BUT THE CKM DIVISION ARE NOT READY TO TAKE THE NEW BUSES I DONT KNOW Y THEY R NOT ACCEPTNG THE BUSES.

THE NEW KSRTC DEPOT IN HASSAN WILL BE INAGURATING IN THE NEXT MONTH

if the mys r mng division provide the volvo service between mys-mng via hsn then i am sure it will be a great profit.most of the people will be travellng to mng by the evng and after 1800hrs there are no buses for MNG at all till 2300hrs and if they provide 1 volvo service which reach hsn around 1700-1800 they it will be great....

The pdf u r referring to is an old n unrevised one; for a very limited period of time there was indeed a Volvo on Mys-Ckm route operated by Mysore depot.

As a side note; it is confirmed that hassan depot is running vaibhava buses on Mys-Has route. One bus departs Mys at 5pm, sports a NON-STOP tag and this bus sees very good loads. Can anyone have the details of other Vaibhavas being run in this route ?
