At present there's still no activity. Rumours tell their own story: Such tower is of no need in Doha in particular when there is no-one really able to finance such object.We see too much objects built in Doha already, a lot of it is still empty. If you take a closer look at the buildings you'll spot a lot of things being built with a lack of quality. Almost no-one can clean the windows but what's the sense of nice windows when they're dirty and your "spectacular view" is hardly enjoyable. Nevertheless, I heard that the ruins of this tower have to be removed, as a lot of other ruins here in Doha since the government is not quite happy having the 2022 championship amongst ruins ...

1. There is plenty of financing available.
2. There are window cleaners everywhere; and I see it on a daily basis
3. The towers are in West Bay long before the 2022 is announced, and regardless of the decision they will continue to be built.
4. Lack of quality in the towers? Window-cleaning does not imply a lack of quality--but rahter a lack of services which does have to do with the architecture of the building, but rather the thrift of the building owners.

The tower will not continue under its current (past) owners, I believe Dubai holdings? They have been trying to sell off the site for years but no takers. Main reason there are no takers is due to egoooos...

that’s right.... high ups in Qatar have asked local big pockets (both private investors and institutes) not to invest and buy this project... let it stand and rot.. why..

the tower is called Dubai Tower.. the million plus visitors who drive past it each year will point to the building and ask what is this massive building and why has the construction stopped.. people will answer.. like we do.. that’s Dubai tower.. they went bust and the project stopped...

desert politics I guess just like Dubai Tower was changed at the last minute to Khalifa tower

Not true. Interesting story, but not true. Dubai holding is not looking to sell the project since the plot was given to Dubai as a gift by the Emir himself.

Looks nobody is working at that site(Dubai towers). Also there's one building next to Ascott,W hotel,Kempinsky - the project seems abandoned
