As Dubai looks to bring World Expo to the region for the first time, the team behind the 2020 bid stepped up its campaign on Tuesday with a series of briefings to various government departments.

The meetings were arranged to bring government entities up to speed on the status of the bid ahead of a national awareness campaign that will start in June. The in-depth briefing offered communications specialists in the Dubai government the necessary insights into the bid, as well as tools with which to promote this national endeavour among a range of stakeholders.

The Dubai government department briefing also comes ahead of the UAE’s upcoming bid presentation to the Bureau International des Expositions, or BIE, General Assembly in Paris on June 11 and 12. BIE is the international organisation responsible for overseeing the calendar, bidding, selection and organisation of the World Expo.

I´d say the same applies to any major megalopolis. It never is "just a concrete jungle", with no natural beauty. Within a short trip from São Paulo you're at the beach; an even shorter one and you're in a deep forest; not to mention the city is almost a lab of architecture of all periods, mainly modernist.

I belive in Dubai all the way they really deserve to get the expo its the most culturally diverse of all the cities bidding and it has residents from very many countries.

And Dubai will also bring up an event witch will really be remembered and use alot of money at it. and its also likely that much of the infrastructure created will be used later also for other purposes.

The UAE’s Higher Committee for Hosting the World Expo 2020 Tuesday gave a detailed presentation on the UAE’s bid to host World Expo 2020 during a meeting with the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) in Paris. The move is part of a nationwide campaign to rally support for the UAE to win the bid to host one of the largest exhibition in the world.

Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group and Chairman of the Committee, said: “We are optimistic about UAE’s chances to host the world’s largest exhibition.”
