Just as an aside, this is something I would never have expected to see in Baltimore! I think they are due back in 2014, when the 2nd Sailabration is planned to commemorate the actual battle of Ft. McHenry

I went downtown for Sailabration today and it was tremendous. Amazing crowds. People everywhere. So vibrant. I thought the city looked terrific and if we can get through the next few days without any bad crime news, it will be the kind of event that really makes people want to come back.
I wish the Blue Angels had flown more over the Harbor and the city. It would have been cooler and allowed more people a better view, but it was still a great day. |

In addition I saw a large propeller driven AWAC’s plane lumbering around the city today. It has a Huge radar dome on top of it. I was surprised at how many sailors from all the ships were at the Gay Pride parade and block party today. Mount Vernon is as crowded as downtown. The parade lasted over an hour and a half and there are 5 stages of entertainment and a ton of food and craft booths at the block party which ends at 11:00 tonight. The Purple line buses are crowded. It is nice when a city has lots of entertainment choices.

Just came back from Pride and Sailabration. Both were amazing! This is how the city is supposed to be. And I couldn't help but notice how the Circulator was enticing a portion of the throngs from the Harbor to head up to Mount Vernon. Imagine what it would be like if we had a true transit link all the way up Charles...the synergies would be incredible.

This is probably getting repetitive by now, but I was down at the Inner Harbor today and the city looked great. The ships weren't bad either! If the bridge to Federal Hill ever gets built, it would get a ton of use on days like today (although there would probably be a little less room for the ships).

In true MTA form, the clock is also 3 minutes behind. Not only is it providing little information, it's providing incorrect information at that. *rolls eyes* I am hoping it has a countdown eventually...

I was over in Cherry Hill watching the show on the bluff next to one of the apartment complexes over there. It was amazing to see the diversity that brought all times of people out to this ideal viewing spot.. People from the complex sat in chairs along side people from out of town who had invaded their grounds just to get a glimpse of the show. I overheard many visitors admiring the view from Cherry Hill over looking the City and the water since I am sure many had never been there or even stopped....

Great weekend..ran the ten miler with the Mrs. from Druid Hill to Montebello and back...over 4000 people...Druid Hill Park and Montebello are looking better and better utilized all the time. Sunday for father's day took the kiddies downtown for the show. Parked by UMB and rode the Orange line into downtown..great time and the city looked awesome....popped over to Locust Point to finally check out McHenry Row as we grabbed an early family dinner at the Greene Turtle there...Locust Point looked great..tons of people meandering back from Fort McHenry .... with a cruise ship at the terminal as a backdrop...

It would have been a nice day for maximum photos and vids. Shocked that there aren't more on display.

here's pics of Pierce's Park from Saturday. It's great havin' a park designed especially for kids. My wife & I don't have any kids yet (Stay tuned..........lol), but I always take my nephew & niece to this location. This spot is utilized heavily every time i drive past it. Too bad I can't say the same for West Shore Park....
