our interleague schedule isnt as easy as it looks. Philly & Pittsburgh aren't easy pushovers, and the Braves play well @ home...

...Adam's got me a little worried, though. Hope he doesn't join Nick on the DL.
The absence of Riemold and Markakis are a big reason why the team is struggling of late. They really haven't had a leadoff hitter since Reimold went down.

If its any consolation, the Mets announcers were very complimentry for the Os. They thought the Os hitters had technically better swings at what Dicky was throwing as compared to other teams he faced. They are also glad the Os are competitive again. |

are knuckleballs really that hard to hit? He was layin' pitches right over the plate all night......daring power-hitters like Davis & Jones to hit it. Coming from a "normal" pitcher, those kinda' pitches would've been hit out the park, & we would've won last night's game.on a side-note, citifield is beautiful! The architects did a wonderful job on gettin' this stadium to look as much like ebbetts field as possible. Martin O'Malley, Branch Rickey, Jackie Robinson, & PeeWee Reese would be very proud. My bad.........WALTER O'Malley, not Martin O'Malley. LOL

Dickey throws a harder knuckler than most at 80 MPH. The ball wobbles a lot so it's hard to square up on, even if it is down the middle.

It looks nice, but Citi Field came with one of the biggest blunders in new stadium construction...how high and deep those outfield walls were. They remedied it by putting a fence in front...now it looks strange.

I sweltered out at Citi Field last night. It was good to see the Os come to life late in the game. They seemed to suddenly get that spark that helped them pull out games in late innings. It seemed possible but fell short. Good to see a sigificant presence of Os fans. Lets hope they get out of their funk against the Nats.

What did you think about that ballpark? It certainly looks cool from the outside, but the inside doesn't seem to drip atmosphere in the same way that Camden Yards does. And the fence looks like an afterthought (which it is!)

Citi Field has some newer design features than CY. The main distinction is the concession stands do not block the the live action on the field. The concessions are on the opposite side from the field, like Philly and DC. So when going out for food, or just walking around you can see the field. All and all I found it a pleasant place to watch baseball, much less hectic than Yankee Stadium. I got a good deal on Stub Hub, got $60 seats for 45. It gave us access to the Ceasers Den, which is an air conditioned restaurant and bar. You can watch the game inside like a sports bar, great perk on a steamy night like yesterday. Everything was fine but the final score. Last edited by Gsol; June 22nd, 2012 at 01:58 PM. |

...yes, except for the stuff along Eutaw Street, the concessions at OPACY are laid out about the same as they were at old Memorial Stadium, albeit more efficient.
However, a lot of the updates for this season have brought our park more in line with the newer ones, such as the bar over the batter's eye and the "flite decks"

Wonderful game tonite...it's great to see the Yard stuffed with fans again, like the old days...
They are suppossed to be sold out for Saturday, and close to it Sunday. That would make at least 4 sellouts out of the last 7 games.

I'd say somewhere around 75%...maybe even as high as 80%. Less Nats fans than Philly fans when we played them.

I think most O's fans expected it sooner or later!
