So we are topped out, or is there still a part of the parapet to go? I was away for a few days, so I dunno the exact status

Right now the steel reaches 72M, about 964 feet. Part of the parapet starts on 72, which is the floor with the "X" columns. The parapet consists of three rows of glass. The current "X" steel will be covered with two rows of glass. Then there will be a third row of glass on top of the current steel we see. On Monday if weather permits, the steel will top out. But the building's final height will still have another 13 feet to go.

There are two small tents down there, and from the KPI TV cam situated west of Route 9A you can see a lot of people gathering between 3 WTC and 4 WTC.. so maybe they manage to do the pick today.. we'll see more when the cam placed at 7 WTC will refresh in a few hours.. (it used to refresh 12 times a day, but now they reduced the rate to 5x/day..)

Awesome! I swear if this were the PA's tower, they'd probably delay, delay, delay.

and a story + shot of the beam, from nbc:

http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local...160217225.html

Quote:
Crews building the city's sixth largest skyscraper celebrated a milestone Monday as they lifted in place 4 World Trade Center's final steel beam.

"God Bless America" played as the beam, signed by members of the crews that helped build the tower, was hoisted 977 feet into the air.

Though most of the focus on the rebuilding has been on 1 World Trade, officials say Monday's completion is a poignant reminder of how far New York City has come in the last decade.
