The non-ethnic Somalis (which is about 15% of the population) are not nomads.

Majority of the ethnic Somalis are nomads, Only certain clans (not very many) in the south along the two rivers are not nomadic, but rather farmers.
Also a few minority clans mostly found in the north are also not nomadic but rather blacksmiths, hunters, traditional doctors etc.

It was and still is common to practice agro-pastoralism, or live half the year as Urbanites. It explains the abundance of old and contemporary cities in Somalia, and the high urban population percentage.

I got sick and tired of Emirates, I demand to be flown on an airline other than Emirates. I have never flew on any airline other than Emirates 2004-2011.. The only thing that kept me in Emirates for so long is their Skywards program.

I hope everyone is in good health. I wanted to ask if anyone here has seen the documentary " confessions of a hitman" or read the Book by John Perkins?. I have been skeptical about the sudden change that is taking place in Somalia, but after watching this doumentary Iam very scared for the innocent people back home. Please watch the documentary and share your thoughts.

Not I, sorry. They don't even have that documentary on netflix (just checked).. probably going to go through other channels to make it happen, if that is.. I'm not l-a-z-y. heh.

Since we're on "has anyone seen..." subject, I remember watching "City of God" back in 2005, it's a great movie if no-one seen it yet.

Protected areas/National parks/Nature reserves of Somalia:

- Lag Badane national park

- Balcad Nature reserve

- Daallo nature reserve

- Alfuuto nature reserve

I think there should also be a Sheikh nature reserve to protect the splendid natural beauty and encourage re-forestation & wildlife.
