Yeah, I've seen a few in my time. Some very strong ones as well. They're called "andhi" in urdu right?

This year May-June Islamabad experienced 3 or 4 such dust storms. One very strong in Peshawar & Punjab last month killed 23.

That's right, they're called andhi. I used to think that any storm was called andhi but apparently the word is used for these dust storms.

Not sure in Punjabi, but in Saraiki, its Jhakkar.

Andheri and haneri are also used in Punjab.
