The letter from Motherwell officials to their supporters highlights this in more detail.

St Johnstone will also not lose out as Dundee will (even in the first division) take around 3,000 to McDairmand Park. Sky have alsready stated that the deal will continue and they shall not breach their contract.

Now that you mention it, Mo, the connection between these phenomena might be a little bit tenuous.

Okay, Skybar it is...

I don't give a fuck if every team (including my own) out there goes to the wall and we have to start the whole fucking thing again with a clean sheet of paper and salary caps on all clubs to level the playing fields.

Rangers should have to start at the bottom and it is as simple as that!

John 'Bomber' Brown has just made my night. Fair play to the guy, never saw him as The Leader.

I think he might even have been genuine!

JESUS. that video.

I didn't think it could get any more embarrassing. And then sanctimonious 'Bomber' Brown emerges from the woodwork.

What next Tore Andre Flo to become Chairman.

This is going to drag through the courts, tribunals, professional bodies for a long time to come. Notwithstanding anything else, logistically I really can't see there being any Ibrox team in any league next season.

A new day a new drama.

Today's proposal is scandalous. If it goes through I will not be back on another senior ground in Scotland.

Has anyone seen the SFL's document provided to Member clubs to aid them in voting. It is the most condescending and baseless document I've ever read.
http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/r...irst-division/

1. RANGERS STAY IN SPL

•Not an option

•SPL clubs have indicated no

2. RANGERS TO THIRD DIVISION

•Takes approximately £16 million out of the game

•Commercial partners walk away and seek compensation

•The settlement agreement becomes a major risk

•The sporting opportunity is quashed for other clubs

5. RANGERS TERMINATED OR SUSPENDED

•Complete financial meltdown

•Settlement agreement is obliterated

•Fans are lost to the game forever

•The game survives but where?

WHICH WILL DELIVER BENEFITS TO THE SCOTTISH FOOTBALL LEAGUE

•Immediate cash benefit for all 30 clubs!

•Gate receipt uplift in Division 1

•Potential hospitality & advertising values increase

•Sponsors receive added value through additional exposure

•Scottish Government remain committed to our community strategy

•SFL has more influence at the top table

•Play-Offs restore the sporting meritocracy and deliver additional value

AND BENEFITS TO SCOTTISH FOOTBALL

•A unified plan presented to the Scottish footballing public which offers real possibilities for the game

•Keeps all 42 clubs together avoiding a divisive SPL2 split

•Deals with the need for sporting integrity with regard to Newco

•Delivers innovation in the form of a single league, Play-Offs and a pyramid plan

•Delivers new value for the game

•Potentially narrows the financial gap between Scottish Premier League & Scottish League

•Shows leadership for the game in Scotland

•Allows fans to engage in the bigger picture

•A positive media outcome

Raith Rovers' Turnbull Hutton appears to be unamused (taken from the RTC blog comments):

"Relax……we don’t respond to blackmail. We’ve made our position crystal clear. The document is a joke and an insult. I don’t care about SPL clubs or their problems. They haven’t shown much interest in ours! We will not be rolling over. I’d rather play Junior Football!"

Sevco may soon be applying for the juniors if the SFL clubs are of a like mind to the SPL clubs.

They will be in an SPL2 (if SPL makes a break away league again) or SFL1 next season.

Maybe. But fans will stop attending. Clubs will never again be in a position to plead with locals to come an support their team and Scottish football will be deservedly dead.

If clubs make this decision they must be prepared to live with the consequences..... Unlike Rangers who appear to be attempting to march back in not far behind where they left off.

The next 12-36 hours are critical for football in Scotland. SFL chairmen today and SPL chairmen tomorrow have two choices. They can either prematurely destroy our game by voting a NewCo into Div1/SPL/SPL2 and risk the certainty of losing the majority of fans forever or they can do what is morally eight and face an uncertain future in terms of sponsors' revenue. It's a no brainier.

Uncertainty is better than no game at all.

Is it fuck send them to Div III let the rest of the teams massacre their squads, and develop youth policies for another three years, level the playing field and start again with a healthier game with more competition and a better fan experience all round.

At the end of the day, Scottish football has been in steady decline and artificially bringing newco into the league will ensure the circus carries on until the inevitable happens anyway.

I don;t give a shit if my team has to cut all of their players and stat agin with juniors, if it means that the entire playing staff of all teams have to do the same (Celtic included).

I'm optimistic that the clubs will make the correct decision, despite the shady attempts to lure them away from it, and despite the desperate propaganda war being waged on behalf of Sevco by much of the tabloid press as they see their meal ticket disintegrating before their eyes.

In particular, Jim Traynor's recent Daily Record articles evoke the image of a hysterical widow refusing to let go of the coffin as it's lowered into the ground.
