I don't think so. it looks temporary, perhaps one of those chute things builders use to throw rubble and stuff down into a skip.

You can now see that three of the tower perimeter columns are formed along the east wall
from the footings to grade level...can't tell if they have been poured yet...going up!

Yes, they have been poured along with the rest of wall.

NYGuy over at Skyscraperpage posted those from DOB fillings..I was trying to get them at DOB by myself but I kinda got lost in there..I asked the guy to give me that link so we can get everything that's public at the moment.

As a Hong Konger I am so envious that NYC keeps giving us these iconic supertalls! How does a building this tall gets approved? Is it purely just an accumulation of air rights??

On the cam they appear to be pouring gravel or crushed rock. Why? Can anyone explain what is taking place?

Looks like some kind of membrane they use between the dirt and first layer of rebar. Maybe some kind of waterproofing.

Indeed it does look like that. But I wonder why. I would think you would want direct contact between the bed rock and the cement foundation of the building. Further, wouldn't it be useful to have the first rebar drilled into the bedrock?
