I visited London and I must say it's a grey & very depressing city , I don't like the architecture , many neighbourhoods and buildings are very ugly ( !! ) , weather always cloudy & gloomy, shopping is complete joke and food is boring. I cannot believe that it's such a "highly respected" global financial centre. I like the tube and the mix of its people though, I found people from many different nationalities but then due to weather almost everyone dress up in dull outfit.

I don't like London and life in UK . I'm more into France & Southern European lifestyle, architecture, food and people I liked Paris though, the architecture is awesome and infrastructure decades ahead of London
But you know many Malaysians are just London London London.

That includes the Prime Minister who did high-ranking visits like more than 8 times since he became PM a few years back.

During this EURO 2012 tournament, I could hear shouts of England England, God Save the Queen, etc in local mamaks and pubs... but turned out England is like one of the lamest team.

That's what I don't understand. London is a dull place with nothing much to do . Very dull, actually. Even my sister said so ( she's now living in UK for study ) . The people are nice though.

Oh yea for study. Tonnes of friends there as well.

Malaysia Airlines has also chosen London as their first A380 flight today. They say the traffic is really big enough. Next will be Sydney - Australia, another country that is really famous here, but again another country that is not your type.

What's up with those sepparatist discussion in west Papua?

Reminds me of Quebec, Canadians already grew tired of them that they don't care anymore! hahaha!

Is it really worth the time to get serious about these sentiments?

Just sayin...

even papuans themselves (beside the separatists) don't care either
they just want to have life, get a job, chill with friends, be happy and things any other people do. they don't want to make a country

Puerto Ricans have a certain independence to represent their state in international competitions as Miss Universe and the Olympics since they are not a Confederate State.
Like most Latin countries, they are very proud people. Many of them don't even consider themselves as U.S citizens when politically they are.

AirAsia X cancellation was due to other things as mentioned in the news at that time. Low cost model is still not proven for long haul.

In fact AirAsia X has always increased frequencies to London before they scrapped it for other reasons.

Philippines, along with Guam and Saipan and Puerto Rico were acquired by US after the Spanish American War.

However, Philippines asserted its sovereignty which was handed over by the US on the 4th of July after the Second World War. Both countries still maintained strong political and economic ties since then.

Had Philippines maintained its Commonwealth status after the war, it would become the only US Commonwealth (or even a state) in Asia.

And it will remain a split among Filipinos who favor this country to remain part of The United States while the other want independence.

If Philippines is a US State, it would definitely send China chills down their spine. US will come by knocking at their doorstep at any time.

Similar to Puerto Rico's dilemma but theirs is a more complicated - some favored independence, statehood or remain to be a commonwealth.

Unlike The Philippines, Puerto Rico is closer to The US Mainland. But as with their position, it is fine as it is.

How about our neighboring US territories such as those in Micronesia?

There are sovereign states scattered on the Pacific but a handful of them are territories of the US, either incorporated or unincorporated .

Now I see the reason why China is so green with envy and wanted to grab their own in South China Sea.

Interestingly, Guantanamo Bay Naval Base is located in Cuba where they don't have any formal diplomatic relationship in that country.

Ice-Cream Mania News

Shocking. Baskin-Robbins is opening stores even in small towns and along expressways.

But I just hope Ben & Jerry's (which is big in Singapore) will come to Malaysia and other ASEAN nations soon.
