i completely agree with you on the maintenance culture and dignity of work.
two things that are seldom spoken about here. everyone just blames everything on 'corruption' as if corruption is a noun only and comes in one method.

nigeria also needs serious quality control and a culture of realizing money in not an end it's a means.

every nigerian, because the feel money is the end not the means, hordes money and is a cheapskate. if they have 50,000 USD to build a school, they will try with all their ability to build a 10,000 USD school for the sake of saving money. If a man has enough to build a reasonable home he will build a shack and live in it until he can afford a mansion. In building they dilute the cement with a ridiculous amount of sand to save costs so that within one year the infrastructure has been broken down by rain and extreme heat. They under pay employees or won't pay them at all to save costs, they use dangerous and questionable materials that weren't suited to function, they buy facilities hami-down from countries throwing them away, the build the cheapest building possible, they fill the roads with scrapped cars and manipulate them to save costs before selling them at the expense of safety.

Lagos is functional and highly productive economically, it just looks hideous because for 55+ years people have built and bought the lowest quality and cheapest of all opinions and hence the mess.

The pics of almost every city that are popularized/promoted in the media are cherry picked. So why pick on Nigeria for cherry picking photos?

Look at common photos of NYC, London, Paris, they show the beautiful and clean areas and not the dirty tenements.

Abuja and Nigeria as a whole need to handle the basics before they think about building anymore towers or other superficial developments.
Speak the truth brother!!!!

Happy that you are gone, sad that you still are prejudice against other ethnicities.

lol at dan committing e-suicide.

Dan is decent when he can stay away from tribalizing everything, which he can't. It can be a situation where it's all the nigerians together versus everyone on the forum and dan will come in and start talking about igbos.

i suppose it's a microcosm of what's happening in nigeria. you can't be a national player if your talking about tribes and religion all the damn time. Dan is the El Rufai, Sanusi, and Buhari of SSC lol.

Many US congressmen are speaking up about Boko Haram. If these Attacks continue to get worse I believe there is a strong chance the USA will get involve. Nigeria is just to corrupt and sentimental to get rid of boko haram, and some nigerian politicians and officails are suspected of funding boko haram.
