^ Yeah, VA has a big community in places like Alexandria and Fairfax. Lots of educated and long settled people there too.

Is that map serious? Thousands of Somalis in Russia, Indonesia, Brazil, Nigeria, Philippines, etc? LOL. Outside Western nations, the Horn and East Africa and Arabia, I don't think there are that much. I know there are lots of Somalis in China, Malaysia, India, and Pakistan who are students but I can't think of any otherwise.

Also South Africa but the Somalis there are treated badly.

Now that the UK census results have been revealed, it gives us a much better estimate of the number of Somalis in the UK. This has always been a contentious matter with estimates ranging from 100,000-300,000. I think now LOndon alone is estimated to have 110,000+ Somalis.

I was going through some of the data and something like 53,000 children were born to Somali parents in England between 2001-2011. An additional 50,000 Somalis gained British citizenship between the years of 2001-2009. So these two numbers alone bring a significant increase to the overall estimate figure.

Overall there are a 102,000 persons born in Somalia living in the UK.

Exactly, nor does it include those that were born in neighbouring countries such as Yemen, Ethiopia and Kenya (through tahriib to get to the west) or as refugees.
