I received a 20% payment demand from Nakheel office, which I need to pay
with in the time.
Can anybody suggest if a credit note is advisable to obtain?
Has any body used one? Any pitfall etc etc.

I used one to pay off my entire property in full. You just need to make sure you get a reputable agent to take care of it for you. Only issue now is credit note prices have risen to 80% of face value I believe. PM and I can point you in the right direction.

Thanks for sharing this jpcharlie. I would still assume that for any major issues after the snagging process, you will still have certain warranties in place by the contractors.

BTW, any news on handover of package1/2 villas?

No that's wrong.
Handover did take place on a few villas, the reason is that snagging is taking longer than scheduled.
Even I was given the option to take the villa 2day and after you shift in contractor would finish the snags.
I refused and said that I would rather wait and until you don't do the remaining snags I will not sign the completion and handover docs.
Somebody in this forum ownes a villa 7 doors away from me and he got his handover and he is moving in today. GOOD LUCK TO HIM
Also Nakheel is answering the phone and they also emailed me today

Good to know that some villas have been handed over, however I was told otherwise... :-)

what is the status on the issue of “additional rental” being forced by some of the sharia compliant banks? While some banks have waived it.
Appreciate if some light is thrown by anyone experiencing this matter
