New Citadel Hotel site to be rebranded as 2 Hilton Hotels and Apt. Bldg

The library and 3 hotel/apartment towers are under construction. A crane is being assembled right now on the Citadel hotel site and they are working on footings while the demolish the last of the old tower.
There are some other projects under construction in the downtown area, like Barrington Espace (6 floor office), RBC Waterside Centre (9 floor office), City Centre Atlantic apartment addition (6 floors on 2 or 3 floor base). Some others like the Trillium condo tower and TD building on Spring Garden Road have recently been completed. Pretty soon we should see a construction start on the Nova Centre complex, Fenwick redevelopment, TD tower expansion, and the Clyde Street apartments. The amount of construction happening in Halifax these days is pretty crazy.

I hope you are right that the new Nova Centre (Convention Ctr) is about to start. This is the Major kick-start we really need downtown. I hope also that all the other projects get a start as well as there is over $1 Billion in the books for development that could start soon. I am forever hopeful....

There's supposed to be a positive announcement in the coming weeks about the Nova Centre and tenants.

Hopeful
I would love to see Halifax finally grow up "literally" and get the naysayers put to rest... I have my fingers crossed on the Nova Ctr getting started. It is just an ugly concrete mess right now from the former Halifax Herald building which was torn down.

There's going to be a formal announcement for the Nova Centre on Thursday.
Apparently the plan is for construction to start by the fall.
