@mlk33

What is the function of the bolckhouse-like white building, is it the auditorium?

Thankfully its not state funded (not surprised by the info anyways ). the more private the better...... 2. It will be great to see Lonrho transform GHK as it did with Grand Karavia.

So all critics towards Governement were/are unfair. Lonrho only manages but the funding for refurbishment was done by congolese state & those hotels belong to congolese state.

I have no clues who this Classified investor is. as you know. It's a tradition to keep details aways in this country.

Show at night? I've been tryig to figure out what it can be. Anybody has a clue?
That's enough for me to know that it will most probably be a first in Kinshasa and DRC and that it will be unusual and beautiful.

Actually Lonhro owns 50% of Grand Karavia Hotel, meaning they entered in the capital of the hotel. For refurbishment, $10 million came from a loan probably with the Congolese governement acting as guarantor of the loan and another $10 million from Lonhro itself. It's a true partnership. This is what i've been trying to make Butembo understand, there is a middle ground

Fantastic! This is going to make a difference when it comes to competition... Only a few hotels in Africa (I only know of Hôtel Ivoire in Abidjan) have such a facility.

Francophonie: 5 000 chambres déjà prêtes à Kinshasa, selon les organisateurs
Kinshasa, 10.07.2012

Looking at the pictures on facebook, well all I can say is FANTASTIC. Fleuve Congo Hotel will set new standards of quality in Congo and we hope they'll be able to keep it up. I will not hesitate to take a room during my stay in Kinshasaé

To mlk33, I'll first like to say thanks for the insights to this project, it's much appreciated. But I got 4 questions for you:

1) what company actualy own this project as you said it's privatly owned.
2) Will it be affordable to stay there as we all know once something is abit out of the ordinary in Congo, it can cost you an arm and leg. (pls keep in mind that most of us on this website leave outside the country, so I'm talking about international pricing)
2) When would we have the pleasure of visiting the hotel's official website as I imagine you're all getting ready for the Francophone summit, so you'll need people to make reservations right ?
4) Is the suroundings of the hotel also be in international standars ? I'm talking about clean and artistic accessibility to the beach near the hotel, the gardens, the parking lots, etc... Reason I'm asking is because in DRC we often have the bad habit of building without taking care of the immidiate surroundings, and this kills the beauty of the architecture, no matter how wonderfull it may be.

Regarding the curtains, please give more details on those curtain walls as even our engineers are not sure which one you mean.

C’est parti ! If such an event is scheduled to take place, one can infer that the activities have commenced. Good luck to FCH!
