PKR n DAP can do well without PAS, PAS is the sour grape in PR. Just take a look at all those PAS higher ups ( with all that I go to Heaven, u go to Hell attitude, blaming this and that, and more importantly, that pray ramai2 so Najib will fall to the deepest pit of Hell. I wonder y tak buat benda yang sama tentang Israel,USA bullying Palestine??), do u seriuosly believe they are the right people to lead Malaysia? I dont think so. PKR and DAP are the real potential leader. PAS is only following their shadows. Well let us stop this political posting. I'm sorry for starting it. Considering currently there's no significant developement in Muar, let us stop posting all these bashing. Malu plak bila forumer lain tgk. haha

Muar is the next Melaka... The development would be more for cultural tourism.
It's the "Bandar DiRaja" (Royal Town) for Johore at the moment. If they won election, i believe Muyiddin will do something to Muar. The new development will only happen within the radius of 2nd bridge. But most likely it would be something like Melacca. |

Caius the Shadow, DON'T BE TOO SAD LA, Whatever we say and do are all for one purpose : For the sake of Muar. Hope that it can develop from still an undergrowth baby into a pure full grown healthy adult, like its brothers and sisters Melaka, Penang, etc, we just don't hope that it become an abandoned child with no future prospects, This is also the wishes of our grand grandparents too right ? Hope that Muar can develop well, But Even Mersing, Kota Tinggi going outrun Muar in future, Sigh....., Ok la, Lets pray and hope that Muar will become a supercity in the future that Muarians proud of, Gambateh.

Johor Ruler to officially declare Bandar Maharani as the state’s royal town
MUAR: Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar is expected to officially declare Bandar Maharani as the states royal town on Nov 12, said district officer Amran Abdul Rahman. He said the royal status declaration for this town as Bandar DiRaja was first mentioned by the Ruler during the states Maulidur Rasul celebration here on Feb 5. The official declaration was planned several months ago and the district expected it to be declared on the Rulers birthday in November. “At the moment we are making preparations for the declaration day but we are still waiting for the Rulers blessing before choosing the date. At the same time we are also waiting for the Public Works Department to complete designing the Bandar DiRaja landmark which we plan to set up in Muar,” he said recently Amran said Sultan Ibrahim had initially decided for the landmarks to be in the shape of elephant tusks to be set up at several strategic spots here. However, he added, the plan had yet to be finalised as the relevant department had yet to complete the design of the landmarks. He added that the district was also waiting for fund allocation from the state government to expedite the projects and would do it as soon as it received the fund. He said it was timely for the town here to receive the royal status as it was opened by the late Sultan Abu Bakar in 1887 and had many old buildings and that several of the old buildings, such as the Muar district office, the old Muar court house complex and the Muar High School, were beautifully designed. “We have started to upgrade and repair the roads in the town, including the drainage system as we want it to be beautiful and clean. We have also asked the residents and traders, especially those at the Muar town market, to keep their areas clean,” he added. |

Urghh there's no significant benefit of having a Bandar Diraja status... There are 9 Bandar Dirajas in Malaysia but only 4 that I can consider as well developed towns. Those towns are Klang, Alor Star, Kota Bharu and Kuala Terengganu.
Klang is arguably the least developed towns in Klang Valley. Kota Bharu, Alor Star and Kuala Terengganu urmm are quite developed but their economic strength are not that strong that secondary towns like Taiping, Sungai Petani, Kulai and Pasir Gudang can easily matched/beat their economic strengths. While other royal towns (Arau/Sri Menanti/Pekan/Kuala Kangsar )are so insignificant in economic strength that most of them can't even pass the Segamat/Pontian/Kulim level. So I'm not optimistic at all with Muar new status as Bandar Diraja. Just buat nama Muar nampak cantik sajalah.

Sorry to interrupt, I don't think the declaration of Bandar Muar as a royal town has stripped off the JB status as the royal town. The official royal palace still in JB. I believe it just an additional royal town in Johor which means that Johor has 2 royal town. So in other word Johor still has the most developed royal town...

Would meeting one of the above criteria make a town royal? Or both? If just one criterion is okay, then it is possible to have 2 towns to be named royal. |
