I think this might be the building along the May 20 Boulevard. This is from May 2012 - Photo by Consty De Fofié

This is another photo of the building which I think, might be the ART building - this update is by Steve du Bruyn and was possibly taken this month - The building U/C to the right of the photo - I do not know what that is

The update is not the proposed ART building

I would not buy into your guess that the updated photo by Steve du Bruyn is the ART building under construction along 20th May Boulevard in Yaounde. The architectural facade of the building under construction has become a popular landmark of many other buildings along that boulevard including the HILTON Hotel, the Credit Foncier building, and the proposed new headquarters for FECAFOOT. Moreover a simple comparison of the number of columns supporting the facade under construction with that of the design of the ART building already indicates a disparity. The one under construction occupies a much larger surface area than the building design of ART.

I take exception to your response. French companies are having to compete with the Chinese, Egyptian (Arab Contractors), Tunisian, Turkish, Belgian (Six International), Spanish, Greek (Edok Eter Pantechniki), Italian (COGEFAR) ... and ... surprisingly Iranian companies for construction projects in Cameroon. And don't forget that there are also reputable Cameroonian companies too that have a track record of successfully executing projects in neighboring Equatorial Guinea. The current rehabilitation of "Immeuble de la Mort" or Ministerial Building No. 1 (or 2) in Yaounde is being undertaken by a Chinese company under terms that would allow it to commercially exploit the facility and recoup costs. As Cameroon increasingly attracts foreign direct investment from other sources around the globe, the days when French companies enjoyed a monopoly is over.
