Olympic Opening Ceremony ticketing categories/prices:

£2,012.00 AA
£1,600.00 A
£995.00 B
£150.00 C
£20.12 D

There are still some AA and A tickets available.

Why are the tickets so vastly different in price?

£20 - £2,012 WTF!

You would have to assume for £20 you have to stand. For £2,012 you surely get hospitality, world class food and drink, get the best view etc etc.

The £20.12 tickets are back of the upper bowl at the north/south ends. The AAs are the top of the lower bowl and some along the bottom of the upper bowl. I have to say that the Bs and Cs will have the best overall view of the Ceremonies. The AAs feel quite low down but are very close to the track. The upper bowl gives more of the bigger picture. I think I'd rather have a cheap seat to be honest - plus the C&Ds are under the roof.

Some of the seats are obscured by the tor and the bell, they're probably the £20.12 tickets.

The £2012 ones exist so the £20.12 can exist.

I see.

£2012 is just crazy. Sounds like some of the much much cheaper tickets are actually in better locations.

The ceremony must be insanely amazing if they think it's worth that much.

If someone earns £5 million a year then £2012 is just like £20.12 to the rest of us. Why not use the people willing to spend more to subsidise the rest.

Just tapped in the £2012 tickets for the Opening Ceremony just out of curiosity.

They were on row 34 in the top tier. Granted a great spot... Just, who's in the bottom tier?

What? An earth emerging from the central hole of the stadium for third time in an opening ceremony?

Not the cauldron, this is still a secret to all, even those of us trying to see where it is. The cool thing we saw was to do with the ceremony we are working on

Your right! I'm sure they had no idea grass would die if you cover it up for 2 months!

Olympics are cancelled!

Let's think about it, the grass will be the first part of the opening ceremony, so it will be the top layer, we can assume the river scene is after the grass scene so it is below the grass.

I don't think you guys were at my rehearsal yesterday night, it was just group 51 and the placard bearers. Although you may have already seen what I saw. Can't really say anything without giving it away, but it's a really good added extra.

If it rains, do you think there'll be much of an impact on the ceremony ? Are they prepared for rain ?

We have practised a lot in the rain and there is no reason why anything shouldn't work, but it would be annoying.
