In this forum, we focus a lot of the more prestigious projects in town, which is - I guess - quite normal. But in fact, they're a small part of the amount of housings build in the standard let's call them, not so prestigeous.

Here are a few starting in Grøndahl Vænge, 83 row houses completed the 1. of april, and located near Fuglebakken Station in the outskirt of the CPH. Municipality.

Rovsinggade,
a 1,3 km street following the railwaytracks, and located in the outer Nørrebro and Østerbro.
It is an old industrial clondyke neighbourhood, with old and new ware-houses like Suhrgaard, 'Lej et lig', cartraders, mixed with residentals. But also center of more creative stuff like TV production and commercials companies.
There're 3 ongoing project out there: construction of some housings being build in not expensive materials, and maybe, what I consider can be a new mosque.

Heading towards West, the infamous Mjølner parken, considered as one of the dangerous places in the city. Looked pretty peaceful to me when I passed today

In front of Mjølnerparken, the Superkilen start in green, and end up in red, all designed by BIG architects and inspired from all over the world, exact like the population living there.
A small masterpiece of urban space Imo.

The 230 surveillance cameras in Mjølnerparken probably helps - 3 or 4 of them are shown on your first picture.

Superkilen seems like a nice project - thanks for the pics!

That poor tree. The Mjølner park doesn't seem to be nice on it.

Hautes couture at the French Embassy at Kgs. Nytorv, known as the Thott palais.
The building is giving a totally restauration, and graced to a private sponsor, Pernod Richard, the facade is decorated and hidden in this beautiful art constellation.

That's the way to decor a building and a city while being restored..

And here's is the Danish version of street decor, the surrounded Metro construction site in front of the embassy, a green painted fence we're forced to watch the next 5 years.

Stage 1 is now completed in the reconstruction of the roof of the P basement and new park on Israels Plads. Repairs on the roof and a new membrane are about to be started.
From the site bill-board it appears it won´t be finished until 2015. Pity it´s not sooner.

Copenhagen is seeing high growth in tourism these days unlike the tendency in the rest of the country.

http://politiken.dk/erhverv/ECE17111...-i-koebenhavn/

In the second quarter of 2012, the hotels in Copenhagen had a 76 % occupancy - the highest among the Scandinavian capitals - and in the same time saw an 11.7 % increase in their earnings per hotel room (RevPAR).

http://dk.nordichotelconsulting.com/...tel_Report.pdf

Hopefully this is good news for the chance to see new (or resurrected) hotel projects.

You can't go many meters downtown without bumbing in to some Chinese tourists these days. In generel you can really feel the increase in foreign tourists when, you walking around central Cph. That's my experience at least. The development may be even better, when the Metro City Ring is completed, and the city is less of a mess. It should make it more attractive.

In Malmo this is also the tendency as a great deal of the 'visible' tourists in Malmo are day-trippers from overseas spending the majority of their vacation in Kbh. Last time I was back I was staggered at the amount of tourists you'd bump into in the downtown areas.

Great for the region!

What about the absolute numbers? And how does CPH compare to the other Scandinavian capitals?

A bit off-topic, but I hate that Politiken, Berlingske etc. almost never provide a clickable source link.

Don't know if it helps, but I found this graph showing that Denmark has much more foreign tourists than the other Nordic countries. Kind of surprising to me considering the ski tourism in Norway and Sweden. It's quite old, though, and I think that Sweden has had big increase in tourism during the last years. I'll search on later, when I have the time.

You could move the last couple of posts to a bew News thread like the one they have en the Malm¨¨o section if you think it would be a relevant addition to the Copenhagen section.
