Southern Railway opened Thatkal Train ticket counter in all regions yesterday salem junction totaly 3 counters are there out of 3 1 counter alloted to Thatkal Ticket counter,Town station had 2 ticket counter out of 2 one ticket counter alloted to Thatkal counter.These counter open in 10am.

Are you sure Arul sir is it new bus? i read one article before 1week that is salem peoples complained about town buses many buses are break down during the service time.But our salem officer told some new town buses addition is going on soon many new town buses will replace old buses.he pointed refurbished buses as new buses trying to fool peoples.

New railway zone: CPI stages demonstration

CPI cadre staged a demonstration here on Friday urging the Union Railway Ministry to drop the plan, if any, to attach Salem Railway Division with Thiruvananthapuram Zone. They also submitted a petition in this regard to Salem Railway Divisional Manager.

They said that the Salem Railway Division was formed after a long struggle against the powerful lobby that refused to split Palakkad Division into Salem and Palakkad for administrative reasons. Salem division was at its infant stage due to inadequate funds. No significant development had taken place to Salem and its citizens till today. But at this stage reports were floated that the division would be attached to Thiruvananthapuram, which should immediately be dropped since the Salem Railway Division would be rendered non-functional once it was attached to it.

They urged the Salem Railway Divisional Manager to expedite train service on the newly-laid Salem-Karur Broad Gauge line. It should not be delayed further. Additional bogies should be attached to Salem-Vridachalam and Salem-Katpadi trains to meet the demand of passengers. A day time express train should be operated between Salem-Vridachalam-Chennai. The Salem-Chennai express train time should be rescheduled so that it should leave Salem at 11 pm, especially after the departure of Yercaud express.

The development works at Salem Junction should be expedited while the platforms in Salem Town, Vazhapadi, Pethanaickenpalayam and Attur stations should be lengthened. All basic amenities such as drinking water, toilets, electricity and petty shops should be provided for passengers. District Secretary A Jeevanandam presided over the agitation. M Arumugam, MLA and State Executive Committee member inaugurated it.

I stopped using Salem-Egmore express long back.. since I have to leave home by 8:30PM itself.

Egmore express can have following timings once Vridhachalam-Chengalpattu doubling is completed.

SA 22:00 SAMT 22:10 SXT 22:20 Attur 23:15 MS 04:45
MS 23:10 ATU 04:30 SXT 05:20 SAMT 05:30 SA 06:00

Yercaud can have following timings

ED 21:30 SA 22:30 MS 04:30
MS 22:45 SA 05:00 ED 06:15

There can be CBE-MS express via Vridhachalam in next 3-4yrs.

MS 22:15 SA 04:00 ED 05:00 CBE 07:00

This will help CBE/TUP/ED dt people to board the trains at southern suburban like St.Thomas mt (future hub), Tambaram, Chengalpattu etc.,

I traveled in Tn-30 N0015 Refurbished guy engine sounds is good almost all are new except Brake,clutch,pedals Front three seats under tool,battery boxes are fixed already seats are very conjusted tool box make my legs painful,Shock absorbers are good,drivers seat adjuster is absent in drivers seat .If they maintain bus in same condition passengers will happy.(Amma news articles soguse perundu is these buses)
